Add an option to turn off AI summaries.
It might be useful for people with robust business-style accounts, but most of my messages are already short, or they're notifications. It makes the "summaries" redundant and obnoxious.

Totally agree. I never gave permission to let your AI crawl my messages. I am a paid member of Yahoo Mail Plus. Sounds like a class action lawsuit in the making...

I want to opt out of all AI functionality. I do not need a 3rd party AI service scanning all of my emails.

Every time that I've encountered AI summaries, they suck. I want to opt of out of all AI.

Allow a total opt-out of anything AI. I don't want or need the summaries. In addition, i DO NOT WANT AI READING MY EMAIL. PERIOD. The only people or things that should be reading my emails, are me, and the sender/receiver on the other end. This is NOT for my benefit, only Yahoo's. I DON'T LIKE THE PRIVACY INTRUSION.

This is a TERRIBLE feature. It is not useful, it is poorly executed, and it just adds clutter to have to scroll through every time to get to the actual message. I am amazed that there is no ability to TURN THIS JUNK OFF.

Eliminate or allow me to turn off "message summaries" that appear at the top of messages. The stupid box inside of and at the top of the email I'm reading that says "created by yahoo mail" GET RID OF THIS!!!!!!!!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE allow us to turn it off. It's cluttering up my email and slowing me down! I don't need help and can get what I need reading myself.

Please stop summarizing my emails in the header as it is confusing and often incorrect information. Or there is too much of my personal information in the header like my account numbers. Stop with A.I. Just stop! It is not needed for everything. Stop!

It's an invasion of privacy, this is OUR email and not Yahoo's to add to. The first one I got after I paid a credit card bill and up pops something from Yahoo with a link to my statement. How exactly is this right???

You're putting AI comments at the top of my emails WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. Last straw of ALL the last straws. I've opened an account elsewhere and as soon as I have it all straightened and ready to go, I'm GONE. Enjoy losing a 25 year customer because of all the ridiculous garbage you're pushing on us this time.

I'm better at reading my emails and knowing what's important than an AI bot is. The summaries just get in the way, plus they're inaccurate and frankly annoying. Even if they do get more accurate, they still aren't necessary. It's fine to have this feature as an option for those who want it, but there's no good reason why it should be mandatory for everyone.

Please allow for the AI summaries to be an option. Yahoo really dumbed things down with this one. Email from client: "What time are we meeting?" AI summary "An email from <name> is likely asking for clarification on what time you are scheduled to meet. They may be waiting a response." SERIOUSLY!

Please add an option for removing AI Summaries. While some may find them useful, they provide no benefit to me and, instead, are a waste of time and space.
-
Tim W Thomas commented
They are redundant. They just state what is stated in the email. It is confusing.

Lisa O'Brien commented
This is critical - please remove these AI summaries ASAP ! They are misleading, time wasting, and energy wasting. They have led me make mistakes by clicking on links that were inappropriate. PLEASE, PLEASE get rid of these obnoxious and dangerous AI summaries !

Just because you can use AI, doesn't mean you should. The AI summaries are making my e-mail harder to read, not easier.

I deo not need or want this feature

Really happy to see I am not the only one who can't stand the AI summary!! They are a waste of energy and water (AI doesn't run on thin air....). I believe we all know how to read and understand what we are reading....I agree with all the comments I read below and tend to agree this is properly borderline illegal. AI is collecting information going through all our emails and I am not ok with this. It should have been something we can take out from the beginning

The option to turn off the AI summary should have been here from the beginning. It is a pretty big blunder that it wasn't. The summaries are redundant, useless and inappropriate.

I do not like the AI summaries. The first time I saw one I thought it was the email and almost missed out on important information that I actually needed to respond to something important. The AI summary feature should be optional. I do not want or need this feature.
