Add an option to turn off AI summaries.
It might be useful for people with robust business-style accounts, but most of my messages are already short, or they're notifications. It makes the "summaries" redundant and obnoxious.

AI content and AI summaries should be a choice for the user community to turn off or on.

What does "planned" mean? And do you have an estimated time for the fix?

Stop pre-reading my email messages! I'm getting messages that brag that your chatbox has read my banking statements, so they can summarize them to me! That is rank invasion of my financial records and privacy!

Yahoo mail, you had treated your customers terribly. You are inflicting an upgrade that no one wants, that lets AI read your emails and the only power the user has is to leave the service. I enjoyed the Yahoo mail interface for years (since the beginning) and resisted the pressure to move to gmail but this is a complete and invasion of privacy. It is also incredibly distracting and inaccurate, and makes it more difficult for me to read my own email, with no option to turn this off. You've ruined the service you provide.

REMOVE ALL AI INTRUSION FROM MY EMAIL. NO PREVIEWS. NO HIGHLIGHTED MESSAGES. NO GROUPING. NOTHING. OR GIVE US OPTION TO HAVE OWN GUI AGAIN. NO AI

Hey hi, I see the new Terms of Service has a li'l AI update. I quote "by utilizing our Services you consent to sharing data that you provide to us, or that resides within your Yahoo account inbox with our AI Providers for the purpose of enhancing features within our Services made available to you. In some instances, use of AI query features may be governed by the AI Provider's terms of service and privacy policy." It also goes on to say AI generated content "may contain inaccuracies" and not to rely on them, Yahoo guarantees nothing etc etc.
Bro, it also says if we don't agree to the terms we can cancel out accounts, which, you got it. It's been 25 years. I'm genuinely sad about this, Yahoo has been a perfectly good service for literally decades. I do wonder how many other users will be walking. Thanks for the years it worked, and also, byeeee -

this is the worst email feature I have ever seen bar none. I didn't think you could ruin something so simple as email. Someone sends me a message, I want to read that message. Not with Yahoo mail!

very annoying. takes up way too much real estate. I want to see my message not what AI wants to share.

Well Admin, what's 'heavily requested" is the option to go back to the OLD CLASSIC email, like that we wouldn't have to deal with this AI stuff that nobody wants and that you didn't even bother to have the option READY so that we can turn it off, "coming soon" doesn't cut it when we are forced to deal with this b-s. Unprofessional and unacceptable.

Neither of these are useful, and both take up valuable space on the screen.

Stop shoving your bad financial decision down our throats morons

I despise these as well. Most are overly-wordy and they are not needed, as I can see for myself what the message is about. Give us a way to get rid of these!

Why is Yahoo sending me messages with a AI response? to my rely? I did not ask for this not wanted it. I do not want a intelligence program using my email which is wrong. What is with Yahoo? Bring back classic look and setup. Hard to believe forcing this on people. I just want what email had before this nonsense and everything is mixed up to no end. supposed to be in All mode not priority. I want All emails to show when I open email plus the page is not high enough and part of start another email is missing? Classic was the best this new era is not the needed era, period.

I can't believe Yahoo didn't include this in this version.

The AI summaries are an invasion of my privacy. I do not want bots or anything else "reading" my emails. It is intrusive and creepy. I can read my own emails, thank you! You have ruined the Yahoo mail platform. Read the feedback users are leaving...how many LOVE the new format and the AI summaries? What does that tell you?
-
Yes, this has been heavily requested, the ability to disable or turn off AI Summaries in your emails. Yes, this can be done in the Yahoo Mail app settings so makes sense to add it to Desktop settings as well. We are working on this and hope to have this available in your Settings soon!
