Link Preview in Emails
In new Yahoo Mail, "Automatically generate a preview of links" is not working. It should be fixed or just allow users to go back to old Yahoo Mail. Thank you.

Before the change you could cut a past a Youtube video to share it would provide a picture with the url address link?
Now it just shows the the url link and it give no clue to the subject matter?
There was on the other Yahoo you just changed on my account. Where you put Subject before would keep a few phrases you could choose from?
Not asking for something new just put back what you already had? Thanks Safe Holiday With Your Loved Ones. -

I used to be able to get a thumbnail from a youtube link when I pasted it into my email. Now it's just a link. This new interface sucks. I really want to go back to the old one.

And another thing that sucks about this new Yahoo Email is that embedded content does not show up anymore when you enter a link in the body of the email! For example: https://www.petfinder.com/dog/grace-df4acc0e-a6f5-49ab-8e6f-5f1b7f8802e5/tn/atoka/friends-of-the-tipton-county-animal-shelter-tn1102/details/
...previously would include an image and more information about the link. Now it's just the link. -

Previously, when I would hover over the small square image icon in my email list, I could see a preview of the attachment without opening the email. Now, when I attempt to do that, I get a pop up with the Delete button right over the image icon, making it unclickable. Very bad design.

Links do not show preview anymore on new Yahoo format. Can't differentiate between READ and UNREAD anymore with new format. Background too white and can't read. Dark mode too dark. Need a background to even it out like on the old Yahoo format.

Yahoo mail does allow creating a hyperlink behind custom text in the compose window; it only supports adding the full URL in a Rich Text email.

Please restore automatic link previews in the new Yahoo Mail. The previous version automatically displayed an article's image, headline and description when I pasted a URL into an email. This was an extremely useful feature, and its disappearance makes the new version a downgrade. I've also lost the option to return to the previous version. Please bring back link previews.

Why when pasting a youtube link in a new message doesn't the new basic mail show a vid thumbnail anymore ?
Here we go again. Every 2 years yahoo ***** around w basic mail to add fluffy distracting shiny widgets that slow down productivity, introduce visual clutter, and screws things up. Basic users DON'T CARE about your copying of the latest Apple or Google UI exp. Do you know what the definition of BASIC is ? Why won't you LET BASIC ALONE and introduce instead a DEFAULT email mode (ie basic, default, advanced) where you can pull whatever UI rugs you want ? Or call basic BAREBONE instead and leave it alone. How complicated would that be instead of constantly disturbing the basic experience ?

Stop changing things that work by replacing them with things that don't work! What in the heck would you eliminate thumbnails with links!

There used to be an option to insert an inline picture into a Yahoo Email. It was cumbersome but at least it was there: I would have to attach an image, then click on the three dots on the image and select "Inline". Now that option is gone. I can't understand why such a basic thing as inserting an inline image isn't as easy as it is with any other web email, desktop app, web based app: clicking on a icon that looks like a picture and that's it. Please make this easy. Thank you.

I have just upgraded to the new Yahoo Mail. When composing an email I often paste a link to a webpage, that link turns into a Preview of the webpage after pasting. This worked in the old Mail but does not work in the new. Please advise?

Bring back automatically hyperlinking links. I tried to send a bunch of links and it was plain text. Why must I manually set each one to a hyperlink? This is a time waster, and massive inconvenience. Especially when yahoo mail sued to do it all the time.

The old Yahoo mail provided a preview of a pasted link within the body of the message. The new Yahoo email just shows the raw link text, where is the preview, please advise & provide detailed instructions?
If appropriate, please pass to Yahoo Help, I could not find a Help email contact, thanks! -

EMAIL and files: I DO NOT like the new Yahoo email format by which the attached files (example list of receipts accompanying a report) are NO LONGER able to be previewed one after the other (old format had an arrow to the right allowing for quick viewing). Presently new format is sending me back to the body of the email each time I want to preview the embedded file

The OLD version was better regarding inserting a website on a compose screen. The old version would actually show the website face page (i.e. YouTube) along with the address link. But, the new version only shows the link address. Please let me know if there is a way to convert the NEW version to allow the website to be visible on the email compose screen.

Attaching a link to a video in the "new" mail does not create a preview of the video like "old" mail did, even though the settings has the switch set on to create the preview. Still works fine in the "old" version. Please fix.

As Previously stated. Nobody but the overpaid developer of this new trashcan your company is calling improved email is impressed with the garbage. I've been using yahoo.com for about 30 years & I believe that your time has finally come to an end. If the Old developer starts a new email service website it will bury your company. Nobody cared about you adding AD's to our pages, Taking away the best FREE email platform on the net will destroy your AD revenue Because I'm going to be using E-mail for another 40 years & I'll have to be making a switch to what is now the best. you removed the abilities that were costing you absolutely nothing to provide & instead lost millions of faithful users. Dumb Kids always think they know best. just a bunch of fruitloop eating basement dwellers patting eachother on the back most likely cost your company it's future. have a blessed life.

The previous version of Yahoo Mail was considerably superior to the current version, not only did it function better and was much more user friendly - even the appearance was better. It's pathetic that email in the early 2000s allowed you to customize features and decide which options you wanted and in 2025 - you not only aren't giving options but have the worst functioning design I've ever seen. I'm actually considering going back to Gmail over this.
