How to Keep Folders Expanded? Here's How:
I read all of the responses about the expanded folders. It is not functioning the way you described it. How do we keep the folders expanded even while going through emails, etc. I need them to stay expanded! All of the time!

PUT BACK A FULL VIEW OF THE EMAIL FOLDERS ASAP. THIS IS A HORRIBLE DESIGN NOT CONDUSIVE TO ORGANIZATION. I WANT THE CLASSIC VIEW BACK. Please advise if the next update will fix the folder view issue.

On this feedback page you provide the following tip:
Keep Folders Expanded - First expand left hand column by hovering on Inbox edge until you see Double Arrows. Then a drop down will show up next to Folders.I can't figure out where to "hover on the inbox edge until you see Double Arrows". I can't find anywhere to hover that generates Double Arrows, so I can't figure out how to keep my folders expanded. Can you provide a screen shot on how to do this? I use browser based Yahoo Mail on a laptop, not an app.
Thank you

Need 'Archive', 'Trash' and 'Spam' folders to show in the main navigation bar without having to click the three dots. For example, important emails very often go into the 'Spam' folder and need quick access. So is the case with Archive and Trash for similar reasons.
Also need the ability to star folders so they show up in the main navigation panel on the left without having to click 'Folders'.
Thanks.

Folders should always show on the left - don't make me open something to see them every time I need to drag into a folder of when I want to open a folder. ARGH - deal-breaker!!!!

Folders should always be visible! You have implemented a BURDENSOME & NOT HELPFUL UI design choice by putting folders behind the "click on & scroll down to find your folder" BS. It was incredibly more user friendly when I could choose to see all my folders on the side! Are you not testing these choices with real people who actually use Yahoo mail? This is RIDICULOUS!

Yahoo mail has become ridiculous. Where are your folders? How can you sort it out? It's been updated to be broken. Sad.

The new Yahoo Mail is making my life harder - here's one example.
I used to be able to drag & drop an email into one of my many folders displayed in the left-hand column. I can't do that any more... it appears it's no longer possible to have my folders displayed in the left-hand column. The best I can do is click to pop them up, but then I've lost the ability to drag & drop things into one of them.
Please enable this capability immediately.

I don't have the fabled "arrows" either, folders should be always visible in the left hand column- not in an widow- so they don't obstruct any other view.
If I miss emails I could lose revenue opportunities this is the dumbest thing ever please revert it back to the way it was !!!

1. You will need to expand the left side column first.
2. From the Inbox, hover your mouse over the edge of your Inbox (left side)
3. Double arrows will appear and you can click to expand column
4. When the column expanded, a drop down arrow will appear next to Folders
5. Click on that and the Folders will stay expanded for that session, even if you are checking emails, the folder list will stay expandedThe folders will collapse back if you refresh, close the window or log out of the account.
This works but why should we have to do it each time there is a refresh or it opens anew? This really frustrating. The Yahoo mail team really needs to stop feeling like they know better than their customers how they want the information presented.

The loss of folder functionality is punishing Yahoo's most long-standing customers, bec we have the most lengthy folder structures. So, ironically, if this is not fixed expeditiously, these will be the customers most likely to leave for gmail. The only reason I have not left all these yrs is bec all my older emails are conveniently filed. But now, it is cumbersome to access them. So it is worth it for me to go through the painful process of transitioning to Gmail, bec the only benefit of staying with Yahoo is now gone.

In the classic version, folders were visible at all times. Why can't it be done with the new version. The new version is more difficult to read. Very frustrating.

The different panes like the Folder Pane, the List of Emails, and the Reading Pane should all be allowed to be expanded and contracted at any time. How on earth could you roll out a new version of yahoo mail that does NOT allow you to expand the folder pane so you can see the names of your folders? This is a truly awful update. The UX designer is either dumb or incompetent.

I want full control of my folders and I need to have the option to see them all. When I collapse or open them, I want them to be the way I arranged them every time I open mail or each time I use it in a day until I decide to expand or collapse them differently. I have many many work emails with folders and subfolders and I need to move around thru them easily.
I go to my folders and I collapse all my 2024 and 2023 work folders, but then when I go to drop a new email in one of my 2026 folders I have to scroll through every single sub folder of 2022 - 2024 etc. I'm spending so much time trying to find what i want because the program doesn't let me have full control of deciding what I want collapsed or expanded. Furthermore I can't just keep what I want opened and drag and drop emails into the folders I want.
There are a million issues in your new system that have me on the edge of moving to GMAIL - this is one of the top ones.

This is really clumsy interfacing. Give us the ability to show the folder list with their names as long or short as we choose. Then we can hide/unhide the nested folders we like and make our work to scan for things much more efficient.
That used to be the case with the older version. Why break that? It is not complicated code and gives your users the ability to customize the interface to their needs.
Otherwise, you just make it harder for more people to use.
I am amazed we have to ask for this.Another outgrowth of the same problem is moving messages to different folders. There is another request in the list for this but it is really part of this one too:
When attempting a drag-and-drop to one of the folders, you present the ENTIRE folder list instead of the short set we would like to choose based on our work at any given time. This would be solved with a configurable folder list. We get to set its size, what folders are hidden, and it scrolls independently from the rest of the page.
Happy users means a strong user base for your product. This should be an easy top-of-list fix. -

I'm echoing other comments here and this is my BIGGEST complaint: I want to see the folders of my inbox already visible on the left (or at least an option to do so) rather than having to click on the Folders icon every time. The new version doesn't have this and it's just terrible for a number of reasons.

The left menu is really bad. 1) it doesn't expand to allow all folders to be seen 2) you put the mailboxes on the bottom left. In Firefox, I have my view set at 125% to make things easier to read. This pushes the mailbox folders on the bottom left completely off the screen so I can't click on them. I MUCH preferred seeing my mailboxes on the top left so I could access them easily.
