How to Keep Folders Expanded? Here's How:
I read all of the responses about the expanded folders. It is not functioning the way you described it. How do we keep the folders expanded even while going through emails, etc. I need them to stay expanded! All of the time!

The left column (with folders) does not have the arrow anymore that allows you to expand the folders. II want to see it with all my folders showing and be able to scroll up and down it.

Folders with subfolders cannot be collapsed... make the screen display unnecessarily too long, when the subfolders are not in use... WHY??????

Your comments replied the subject action was complete but I have not been able to expand the folder and have it displayed on the side bar. The ability to select multiple email to move to a folder was removed. Please put it back.

I want to see all my folders expanded all the time. It was not intuitive to find out how to expand them; it is also not covered in the Help, and only on the Feedback page was there a tip that finally explained to me what I was missing. Because you changed the left side tree structure and default views, please make it an account setting for users to toggle their preferred default of expanded or contracted. It is annoying every time I sign in on another machine (or upgrade browser or reboot PC) to have to expand the folders again. I love drag-and-drop messages to folders, but I need them expanded to be able to do that.

You have also decided for us to keep the left panel uncluttered by making our folders into a button but you leave the starred box to the right which is complete clutter. Not sure who is running things there and making these decisions but you really need to give your customers the ability to customize what they are seeing and how they want it presented.

hiding these important folders is the worst idea IN THE HISTORY OF UIs - i have designed websites, and can do a better job with my eyes closed -

It was annoying to have to keep expanding the folders I've created but now. you guys have outdone. yourselves and made it even worse. It is now a button I have to press each time I want to see my folders. As if this new UI you're forcing us to use wasn't bad enough you actually found a way to make it worse. Bravo.

You state on the computer = Expanded Folders - Now you can keep them collapse/uncollapsed if you want your Left Rail less cluttered. But I like them collapsed and there is no information How to get the opened on the left rail l as they were before! It now defaults to collapsed!! UGH

Hi I have many folders, it is very hard to drag and drop messages into them without an organized folder tree of them visible on the left. I see it noted that folder organization should remain open, but it doesn't on mine? It only pops open in a small window when I click "Folders" but then disappears when I click anything else. It takes forever for me to wait for it to scroll through every single one of my sub folders when trying to drag and drop a message into a folder like this. Thanks

I want to see all of my folders without having to click to 'expand' folders each time I go between my inbox, sent mail etc. and then want to go back to my folders.
The ADMIN response to this previous recommendation is that this is possible, but that response is INCORRECT.
One CANNOT click on the drop down arrow next to "Folders" and have folders stay expanded. First, there is no "down arrow" or drop box" appearing for me. I only click on the folder and the folder icon then looks "open". When I then go to my inbox, the Folders immediately collapse. I am not closing out the window or signing out, I am only going between emails. Please check this for yourself or with real users and fix it. -

I really miss being able to see all my folders at any given time. This made categorizing emails a breeze. Now when I start to drag an email, the folders pop up, but it always pops up at the top, meaning if I want to throw the email in a folder at the bottom, I have to sit there for 5secs each time and scroll to the bottom. Having the sidebar permanently there meant I could navigate to the folder first, then dump as many emails in there as I wanted. This new system feels like it's designed for people with 5 or 6 folders, but I've got around a hundred.

So I see how to expand the left pane to some additional folders, however, in this view you cannot see trash or spam. This is a mess! Please let us see ALL folders in the left pane, including user-created and spam and trash and unread.

I do not have a dropdown arrow on my Folders. I have to click on Folders, and then it brings up a separate window with the list of all of my Folders. It is much easier to navigate to my folders when they are listed in the left pane. This also allowed for selection of multiple emails in the inbox to move to a folder. It is much harder to work with all of my folders now.

You can find the double arrows if you minimize the size of text you are using. To to this I had to downsize the text in my browser to 90% because Yahoo no longer lets you select the size of text in mail. Once you do this you can find the double arrows however now reading email becomes a problem as the text is too small. I also have to readjust to read everything else I want to see that's not yahoo mail.
I am no web designer but this version is sorely lacking in functionality and usability. -

I called the help number and they said this feature was removed. I need it!! Please!

The feedback page says, "Tips: Drag and drop messages to folders - Just click and hold on an email message, then drag and drop that message into a different folder."
EXCEPT the folders are hidden in a menu that DOES NOT stay open. So how do we drag and drop anything when the moment we move the mouse off of the folders menu, it disappears? -

HI Lisa, we are going to merge you into the thread where you can indeed expand folders. Thanks.
