deleting open messages
With a message opened, I don't see a way to delete it other than closing the message and deleting it from the list of messages. Very cumbersome.
Am I missing something?

Yes, when you open an email, you will see a set of icons at the very top of the message. You will see the reply, forward, mark as unread/read, starred, move and then you'll see the Trash icon. Hope this helps!
