I have had a Yahoo! account since 1996 and have had premium mail (Mail Plus) since 2003. I'm posting here at the advice of Yahoo Customer Care, and I'll tell you exactly what I told them on 8/8/2025 about the newest version of Yahoo Mail.

"The new Yahoo Mail is awful and ugly. It's obvious that you're trying to make it more like Gmail, which I can't stand. I can't see my middle initial in my account name. I can't see my settings bar to the right. I don't want to see all my starred messages to the right. I want all of my inbox messages to be seen as default--not priority messages or any of that other nonsense. I pay $40.00/yr for this. I deserve better. Please reply."

While waiting for a reply from Yahoo!, I found a way to make sure my middle initial was displayed, and I reverted to the older version of Yahoo Mail. When Customer Care replied on 8/6/2025, I emailed back asking how long the old interface would be available. Customer Care replied to me on 8/11/2025, stating "Unfortunately, we don't have the exact information till when you can use the classic version of Yahoo Mail.[...]Please be informed that there will come a time that the new Yahoo Mail version will be the default version."

To repeat, the new Yahoo Mail is too much like Gmail, but worse. If I wanted a Gmail-style email account as my primary email account, I wouldn't be paying $40.00/year for Yahoo Mail Plus. I hope that Yahoo! is not just soliciting ideas for the sake of alleged "due diligence" with the actual intent of disregarding them.

Please don't forces changes on us if we don't want it.
I tried to tolerate the new/improved email for a few days, HATE IT!
If you're really interested in improving: Let me sort my lists alphabetically. BUT NO! You can't design the code that'll do that simple task.
I wish every week my email company - - that I now pay $5/month - - cared about what the customers wanted. But it doesn't. There are a dozen ways that I know, but the most obvious new one: You won't let us see other customer's feedback.

Hello. The old version was simpler and more useful. Now it has become more complex.

I do NOT like the updated yahoo mail because it won't stay on the ALL page when I ask it to show my emails so I can browse and delete as I have done in the past. I really don't like this version and it's difficult

When something is advertised as being "improved" it should be improved. Before the "improvement", I was able to bulk delete the trash and spam folders with two clicks. Now, with the improvement, I can't seem to do it. A "search email" and a "search spam" banner and search fill-in covers all the folders including the box to select all the emails, individual delete on the top but not to the right of the email. With the folders being covered, I can't for instance, select an email and click the move button because the move button is covered by the search fill-in.

When composing an email. The bottom and top taskbars are wonky. The bottom taskbar is somewhat hidden and the top taskbars are out of place.

Is there a way to change the user interface to the old interface. I did not ask for, nor do I like what you've done with it.

Can I get the old format back? Things I relied on are just not there, like show the email address of sender, ablitiy to single click and bring up all emails from or to and address, to be able to star emails from the main sheen directly, etc.

Help! Every time i open my laptop, my Basic mail has reverted to the new design -- which is awful!! How can you improve the new mail? SCRAP IT! (nothing personal) In the new version, I cannot find any text tools within the mail itself, and it's NOT as flexible or workable, and my screen is filled with extraneous stuff and colors I don't want or need! Who's brilliant idea was it to ruin the design and layout and features of Basic? And why do I keep losing it??. Do I have to reset my computer to an earlier time?

Restore the old version or at least offer the option please.

Can I revert back to the old Yahoo Mail Plus Version? This is the worst version I have ever seen!

One of the worst features is that you have to scroll all the way to the bottom of an email thread to get to the SEND button. Ridiculous!

This is a TERRIBLE redesign. There is nothing positive about it.

It is so much harder for me to see and read the list of messages now. I have tried each of the three formats and I cannot read any of them as easily as the Classic mail format. For example, the differentiation between read and unread mail is too subtle Please take into consideration that some of us older people do not have crystal clear vision and let us switch back to Classic mail. Thank you

How about letting people use their email the way it used to look instead of showing me only 5 emails with text so large I can't see the other 47 pieces of garbage I was sent today?

New email does not have a delete button like trash

best improvement is to give viewers the option to opt out of changes not welcomed or user friendly.
