Right Side Panel (Contacts, Starred, Etc)
There should be a way to remove the contact box on the right. This feature is useful when two windows (one is yahoomail) are displayed side-by-side. During these situations, window real estate is valuable.

The Starred pane can be reduced. It's counterintuitive, but I figured out how. Even the guy I spent an hour with from your tech support didn't know how to close (reduce) it. HOWEVER... once I reduce it, if I refresh the screen, the dang thing re-expands! That's just rude. The left menu, when reduced to icons, doesn't re-expand on screen refresh, so why does the right "starred" pane? If you can't be smart, at least be consistent!

The layout of the screen is very VERY wasteful of screen space. Especially when the "Starred" box takes up a HUGE chunk of screen real estate and serves no useful purpose. Even when all stars are removed, the thing still takes up space. So much that the preview pane can only show about half a normal message. That's just horrible screen layout.

I don't want it to be seen as a separate tab window with stars, I don't like that and I don't see a way to cancel it, why do you always think that you have improved something, but in fact it is unclear and impractical!

The box on the right hand side that shows ads, starred messages and contacts needs to be smaller or even better, give us the ability to minimize it. Being so large makes it difficult to see and read my emails.
If it is the ads you are worried about us seeing, then just make the box smaller. -

When you click an email to read it, the reading pane isn't wide enough to read the whole line of message. You have to scroll left-to-right and back for each line of paragraph, making it difficult to want to read a whole thing. An alternative could be the ability to open the message on a separate window for a smooth and pleasant reading experience.

The current un-fixable layout of the inbox is completely user unfriendly. The right hand menu cannot be collapsed and hidden which means the messages don't get displayed in their entirety. Moreover, the only way to stop seeing the body of a message is by opening a different one, there is no way to just close a message and stop displaying them altogether and only see the e-mail list.

The mandatory Contacts/Starred tabs on the right are irritatingly placed and they are not required at all. A simple UX thing would be to give a "collapse" button to close if not required, why to keep it compulsorily staring at the user?
Please give an option to close that tab and increase the space, use the space wisely!

First of all thanks for the new look, i thought the yahoo mail was dead.
When I'm in inbox section on my laptop, the right side is just displaying nothing which is wasting space and compressing inbox into even smaller section so its hard to read emails, I have to open the email to read the starting of the email. I'm sorry If I could not explain it properly.
We can have it replaced it with something useful and not the ads please - it just makes the whole thing look like disaster. Looking forward to see more changes on the mail.

The right-side panel for starred, addresses, calendar should have a setting where the default is minimized so you only see the icons. And when activated, could either float in front of the main screen and then have a pin to lock it open.

In the right side menu starred, contacts, calendar need to show in a icon not detail. Its maximize space in inbox.
When zoom are 100% are break down right side menu in 14 inch laptop. Need to optimize.
Search in top should be align with Inbox.
Why not lunch Yahoo cloud drive?
Why push ads? Its annoying.
20GB for all services for basic (free) version is good. After that can be offer for purchasing.

The box to the right with "starred" and "contacts" ought to be removable for those who don't use it. It is an empty space that occupies too much screen area. Make reading emails very difficult if you are using side by side browsers on the same screen.

https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN37104.html is incorrect. This only works for the current browser pane. EVERY time a user loads the mail site, they have to carefully select the control (only a few pixels wide) to hide the enormous (and almost never useful) right pane. "Hiding" it needs to be something that is remembered for the next site access.
Is the ability to permanently "minimize" the starred/contacts panel? By putting it behind the "PLUS" subscription you are tacitly admitting that it is a user-hostile and unwanted "feature" that people will pay to remove/fix. If we're paying to remove it, at least let us actually remove it without having to click the minimize thing every single time

I just purchased the ad free version so i can get more room on my screen to read the content of my emails. I do not need the right hand column section on the right that allows you to see "starred and contacts" which is a TOTAL waste of screen space. I need to know how to remove this from my view so i have more screen width to read my emails properly. If this is not possible I will cancel my Plus subscription.
