Go back to previous layout
everything looks the same and it is hard to distinguish between the emails. When I hit a check box the whole column moves and is extremely annoying.
This is the worst email experience that I have ever had.

Previously we (users) could use classic design. You have removed it. The new design is AWFUL and that's why people were using old one. Make classic design available again, please!!!

I am a senior user and I have used Yahoo Mail for many years. The previous version was easy for me to use. The new design is very difficult for me to navigate. Many options are harder to find and are not clearly visible to me, and simple tasks that I used to do easily now take much more time. Please consider senior users and people who may have difficulty adapting to major interface changes. We should have a choice. Please restore the “Go Back” option so users who are comfortable with the previous Yahoo Mail can continue using it. Thank you for considering the needs of your longtime users.

I have been a Yahoo Mail user for many years and am also a paying customer. My biggest problem with the new interface isn't that it looks different. It's that it has significantly reduced information density and efficiency for users with large, long-established mailboxes.
I use Yahoo Mail professionally and have years of correspondence organized into many custom folders. The previous interface allowed me to see my folders, a large number of messages, sender information, subjects and other useful information simultaneously. I could scan, find, sort and file messages extremely quickly.
The new interface seems optimized for simplicity and casual use. Unfortunately, that comes at the expense of people who use Yahoo Mail as a serious organizational and archival tool.
I appreciate that Compact View is coming, but smaller message rows alone won't solve the larger issue.
Please consider a Power User / Classic Layout option that provides:
• Higher information density and less unused padding
• A permanently expanded, compact folder tree
• More messages visible on screen simultaneously
• More message information visible without hovering or opening messages
• Faster access to sorting, searching, moving and filing tools
• Less screen space devoted to oversized navigation elements and panels
• The ability to customize which columns/information are displayed
Simplifying Yahoo Mail for casual users does not require removing efficient workflows for experienced users. A Simple/Standard mode and a Compact/Power User mode could serve both audiences.
One additional concern: the previous interface presented “Try the new Yahoo Mail” as an invitation to experiment. It did not make clear that trying it could be irreversible. Had I known I would permanently lose access to the interface I had used successfully for years, I would not have clicked it.
Please give longtime, high-volume users a layout designed for managing large mailboxes efficiently, rather than requiring everyone to use the same simplified interface. -

Do not show up avatar/logo of the sender of the message, it is distracting, annoying, and makes the inbox more difficult to read. A fancy feature doesn't make reading the inbox easier.

Trash this new version. There was nothing wrong with the old one and changing something just for the sake of change is frustrating. My previous version was much more aesthetically pleasing. If something isn't broken, stop trying to fix it!!! And if you just HAVE to change things, give us the option to keep a previous version.

Put things back the way they were. It took me a long time to figure out how to add a contact and then the space and work area were so small. If I want to scan through my contacts I have to go very slow because only one at a time can be seen in the tiny little window you provide. This design is BAD.
GIVE ME BACK CLASSIC MAIL. EASY TO USE AND UNDERSTAND. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH CLASSIC. -

I clicked on a notification in the upper right corner of my yahoo mail account it said try our new Yahoo. I want to go back to my original formate. Cab you help?Agent said
You may be able to switch back. In Yahoo Mail on a desktop browser, look in the upper-right corner for “Go back to the old Yahoo Mail” and select it.If that option isn’t shown, the older version is no longer available for your account. Your emails, folders, contacts, and calendar remain in the same mailbox.
You said
If that option was there, I would have selected it. So, Yahoo deliberately wanted to trick it's clients into changing without giving any indication that if they clicked the "try button" it was a one-way transfer with no way back!!!!!!! The screen that shows the contents of the EW-mail is too small; it collapses the body of the message down to about 2 inches, its not usable. I need to have this fixedAgent said
I can see why that layout would be frustrating. Although the older version cannot be restored when the option is no longer shown, you can make the reading area much larger in the new Mail layout.Try this first: hover at the far right edge of the email list and select the expand icon. This minimizes the right-side panel and gives messages more room.
You can also change the message layout:
In Yahoo Mail on a desktop browser, select More options, then Settings.
Select Appearances.
Under Message layout, choose Bottom instead of Right.
That places the email beneath the message list, which usually provides a wider reading area.
You said
Nether of those options are available Is there a real person that i can talk to?Agent said
I’d like to help you get this usable again. A couple of things can change which layout controls appear, so let’s narrow it down quickly. Are you using Yahoo Mail in:
a desktop web browser, or
the Yahoo Mail app on a phone or tablet?
Also, when you open an email, is the message showing in a reading pane next to your inbox list, or does it open by itself on a full page?
With those 2 details, I can give you the right steps for the version you’re seeing.
Agent said
I’m sorry the controls I described aren’t appearing in your version of Mail. Yahoo’s current guidance is that Classic and Basic Mail can no longer be restored for desktop accounts. To identify why the reading area is so narrow, please tell me whether you’re using Yahoo Mail in a desktop browser or in the Yahoo Mail app on a phone or tablet.
You said
My phone is unchanged; the problem is with my desktop. Again, I didn't ask to have format changed the first time; the button said it was just to try! The message is showing in a reading pane next to the inbox listAgent said
You’re using the right-side preview pane, which is why the email body is narrow. In the current desktop Yahoo Mail, the supported way to make it wider is to change the message layout from Right to Bottom:Click the More options icon near the top of Mail.
Select Settings.
Select Appearance.
Under Message layout, select Bottom.
That keeps the inbox list above the email and gives the message the full width of the window.
Since those controls are not appearing for you, please tell me what icons or menu choices you see at the top-right of your Yahoo Mail page, especially whether there is a three-dot More options icon or a gear-shaped Settings icon.
You said
I found the more button it was at the bottom of the index list on the far left.Agent said
That’s the correct More options button. Click it, then select Settings. In Settings, choose Appearances, then under Message layout select Bottom. This moves the email preview below the inbox list, giving the message much more width.
You said
I went through that process; it is not right either. What was yahoo intent in tricking its clients to change their format1Agent said
The Yahoo guidance describes the change as an update to the desktop Mail experience, with a new look and tools. It also states that Classic and Basic Mail are no longer available for desktop accounts, so switching back is not available.I can see why selecting “Try it out” without finding a workable layout afterward feels frustrating. Yahoo does provide a way to submit feedback about the change: go to Yahoo Help Central, select Yahoo Mail, then choose Give product feedback.
You said
can you just pass the information directly to them. that way you could explain all of the options that I have triedAgent said
I can’t submit feedback or pass details to Yahoo on yo -
