I REALLY need a compact view!
I don't like this new look very much at all, but I might be able to get used to it if I can have a compact view. Some themes or colors would be nice too.
Hi there, thank you for submitting feedback! We pushed the new layout a while ago and have been slowly migrating users. The migration is almost complete.
We see a lot of 'Compact View' feedback so we wanted to gather more feedback!
When looking at your Inbox, we have in the top, right hand side, the sorting icon. From there you can change the Inbox Spacing to: Small, Medium, Large. (Screenshot provided). Same under More > Settings > Appearance (Screenshot provided)
So our question to you:
- Are you not seeing these Settings/Choices?
- You DO see them, but you want it even more Compact? How compact is our question?
Thanks for your help!!

Why was compact view option not included with rollout? At least give people option to switch back to old (compact) view.

Right now Yahoo Mail looks like a kindergartner designed it! I would get rid of the avatars or make them smaller squares so the inbox emails are more compact and easier to read and select.

It's terribly difficult to read inbox now and I have good eyes. Why change a good thing? I understand adding features but complete redesign without notice is the worst business practice ever.
1. The bold and not bold fonts are not different enough to easily see which emails are read and unread.
2. The display font is awful, not good for screens, the letters of words are way too close together it is difficult to quickly read the words.
3. Also I see you are fixing it but the "compact" view for line spacing is not compact enough it's like what expanded used to be.
I hate that this design has just made my life more difficult. -

There feels like so much LESS space in the mail view. i.e. why not place reply and forward at the top next to mark/star/delete.....freeing up that space at the bottom for more viewing in the important part.

In sending text message, it is necessary to view quite a number of lines of what you have written. There are also blank lines. separating paragraphs. You have allowed only four lines to be seem simultaneously. Your overall format is very wasteful of vertical space and could be much more compact yet still readable. This would enable far more lines of text (with paragraph empty lines) to be viewed overall simultaneously when writing an email. Emails are often 'letters', not just single sentences!

PLEASE KINDLY REDUCED SOME EXTRA BLANK SPACE FROM RIGHT SIDE OF MAILS & LESS SOME EXTRA
SPACE FROM LEFT SIDE OF INBOX MASSAGE ICON.

Make the spacing between messages tight and compact. The old version had perfect spacing. I spend so much wasted time scrolling pages of messages because there is so much wasted space.

Please accelerate the compact layout. The current one is unreadable, the text is too large and the spaces between email lines as well. The option has disapeared from the appearance options...
Thank you.

Earlier version in composing we can press TAB and give space and make columnar visibility.

If each email listing inside any folder was narrower from Top to bottom, we could see more emails at a time. To me that was one of the biggest misses with the new layout. Let people choose Compact view if they prefer that.

Allow to toggle on or off the side panel. Also provide compact mode so email list can have more emails visible on the first page itself.

Why, even in Compact, is everything so LARGE. I'm on a 32" 1440p and I can see 5 emails total.......I used to be able to see 20+ or so. Redesign is not good. Going back to old Mail now.

I prefer a wider view of my inbox and/or any other box that I am looking at. The view now is too compact. I don't need such a wide view of the box that is just to the right of the inbox. I prefer to see more of what's in the in box, wider view of the subject line etc.
To be honest.... I was perfectly content with the previous version of Yahoo Mail.... an don't understand why you had to change and/or improve it.... it was Fine the way it was.

I used to see lots of messages on the screen in the compact view. Lots of emails on thin lines. Now the Lines are thicker, wasting lots of space and there is no option to compact them. I guess I can now see about less than half of what I used to see. Please let me switch back to old interface OR allow a compact view in the new interface.

I used to be able to see 2 dozen messages or even more, even with preview turned on. There is much too much white space on the page. Reduce it, or give me back the option to reduce it.

It says it's coming soon but I'm going to say it anyway, the email list is WAY too spaced out... I absolutely hate how this looks now. There are also no themes or ways to change the color to anything other than white or grey, which makes it much more unpleasant to use. Changing the interface without having all of the features ported over and ready is not an upgrade, it is a downgrade and it makes no sense. Sorry to be harsh, just... makes no sense man.

I need a compact view for sorting through emails. IT's crazy that the New Mail released without the capability to condense my email list. I don't care if yahoo looks like Outlook - Outlooks new UI looks terrible too.
