Over the years, different email providers have tried to eliminate SPAM and PHISHING email to make the email reading experience better.
Now, yahoo has starting injecting ads into the set of messages as if they were incoming to our email box. This is the reverse of the trend to reducing the amount of junk we have to go through.
The ads may reduce your costs, but increase the frustration of the users. In case you did not realize it, ad blockers were created specifically because people are tired of obnoxious ads, especially those that contain clickbait sites, sound, NSFW content, large portion of screen overlay, or flashing movement to distract from the reason we went to the site.
The next step in the arms race is going to be to avoid letting sites detect adblockers. Or, sites that require ads may find people less interested in them. Please remove the ads in the list of emails. Please put a reasonable filter on the ads you accept. Please stop looking for adblockers.
