Allow commisioner to start playoffs whenever they want
With all the resting that happens during weeks 20 onward, it makes the playoffs too much of a crapshoot.
Personally I would like to be able to start our playoffs in late February so this is not an issue.
Please let us have the option to start the playoffs whenever we want.

Don't forget to upvote this. If we can get it to the top chances are they will see it and might be able to implement it for next season.
Yeah, 13 years with Yahoo and now in year after year NBA teams starting to DNPs players in massive numbers I will also leave if Yahoo doesnt add option for starting playoffs earlier from what is now. Hope will be add it in settings for next season, if not:will be a shame to say goodbye.

We REALLY need this. PLEASE fix this! Our league will have to leave yahoo if they don't let us customize our playoff starting week. Too many DNPs after week 20. Yahoo's current restriction makes Championship a joke
Not so. The default is to have a consolation bracket.
Allow commish to create Consolation Bracket. The default says No Consolation if you have a 6 team playoff.
Agree 100%. Please see my more recent post asking for playoffs to begin in week 19 (without the 2-week championship)
@anonymous - we have deeper rosters so our player pool is actually bigger than standard 12-team leagues.
Sorry, "being" on line 1 should say "begin".
I don't see an edit option
Why don't you play in 12-team leagues? 10-teams are for wusses
yeah I agree that this should be an option, but not if it means removing a different option
There are lots of options for having playoffs, but the only ones that being in week 19 insist on a 2-week championship. Why not just have 19,20,21 as there are the options of 20,21,22, and 21,22,23
If you play in a 10-team league, starting the playoffs in week 19 means that everyone plays each other twice, which is fairest. However, those people shouldn't have to play week 22 if they don't want to.
totally agree!!!!!!!! and hope this changes!!
since this would definitely help prevent alot of common tanking issues that I'm sure all leagues experience

Our league wonders every year why the fantasy championship occurs the last week of the NBA season. All of the random DNPs as stars rest the last week kill the fantasy finals. Why not end earlier, like all fantasy football leagues do?
For playoffs, none is currently an option for the commish to use.

Could you please create a playoff settings option to turn the playoffs on/off for Head-to-Head leagues? We have a keeper H2H league and we don't want to play rotisserie, but we want the season to end after the regular season (after the week of our choosing) and not have to play in the playoffs to determine a champion. In addition, we want the league standings history page (under the All Time tab) to reflect the final regular season standings instead of the final playoff standings (if "no playoffs" is chosen). Please create this option for basketball and baseball. Thanks!!!

If teams are tanking then kick them out.
Rather than have a "Consolation" bracket that "rewards" someone for getting 7th, custom leagues should be able to do the opposite. People stop caring if they aren't in the real playoffs, but this would give incentive for all people to continue caring so that they are not deemed the ultimate loser.
11th and 12th place get a bye
Game 1: 7th plays 10th, Game 2: 8th plays 9th --> losers of these matchups "move on" to the next round, while the winners of these matchups avoid being crowned the "Ultimate Loser"
Loser of Game 1 plays 11th, Loser of Game 2 plays 12th --> losers of these matchups "move on" to the next round, while the winners of these matchups avoid being crowned the "Ultimate Loser"
Losers of the above matchups face each other with the loser being crowned ultimate loser
Feel free to reach out to me if this is confusing
Back in the day yahoo had these, and I would like them back for all fantasy sports.
Basically, in basketball, football, and baseball the top 8 teams make the playoffs.
I propose that Yahoo! also has a playoff systems for teams 9-16 or 9-12.
I say this because it will stop teams from tanking or giving up, and help in keeper leagues as well. In leagues that have outside "incentives"...it will be important because then you can reward these winners and thus teams in the bottom of the league have something to fight for to get some winnings back.
I understand that there is a "Consolation Bracket," but that's merely for teams that finish 1-8 that lose in the playoffs. I'm taking about something different specifically for the bottom tier teams in a league
