Schedule/Scoring Formats - 'Doubleheaders vs league score median'.
Each week, the median fantasy points of all teams in the league is calculated by taking the middle number in a sorted list of scores of each team. Each team would get a win if they beat the league median and a loss if they lose to it.
This feature is now available with Yahoo Fantasy Commissioner Plus.

This idea really doesn't solve the problem.
Let's say that an 8-team league has these scores during a week:
222, 220, 206, 203, 203, 203, 121, 118
You have 6 teams with a top half of the league score.
Which 4 teams were the top 4?
Do you give the 4th-5th-6th place teams a tie?
A better (more fair) fix would be to have every team play every team every week.
In that scenario, having three teams tie would be no problem.
In that scenario, the highest scoring team come out better than the second highest scoring team every time. -

I'd prefer to see Yahoo use "All In Play" for league standings.
Have each team play every other team every week.
It would solve the problem that you want to solve.
And,it would be more fair. -

Have you considered a scoring system which has every team play every team each week?
That system would would accomplish what you want to have happen,
and it would be more fair. -

Let's think about a six team league.
If the weekly scores are: 107, 104, 63, 63, 63, 58
which three teams get the extra win?
You really can't even declare the third and fourth place scores as a tie because the fifth score is also 63. -

And, do you really think that more than two of these teams should have an extra win? -

If you have a 10 team league
and the 5th, 6th, and 7th highest scoring teams
all score the same number of points,
which of those three teams gets credit for an extra win
and which two teams get an extra loss? -

So, let's think about an 8-team league. During some week of the season, the 8 teams score these points:
172, 149, 137, 100, 100, 100, 95, 91
How many wins/losses will you allocate to the 3 teams which each scored 100 points ?
If every team plays every team each week, then those 3 teams all tie each other.
But how do you award a win to the top half of the teams in this situation ? -

We need a way to set up the league to play 2 head to head games each week.

I want to know if there is a way to set up the league to play 2 head to head games each week. It would also be nice to have an option in the schedule for divisions to set up the number of games played between teams in the same division. The first question helps eliminate when you’re the 2nd highest scoring team that week and you lose the highest scoring team that week.

This is a fantastic idea and Yahoo should absolutely add this feature.

THIS! THIS! THIS!!!
Please allow leagues to play doubleheaders on their schedule. Either against two different teams, or against one team and the league scoring average for the week!

I couldn't agree with this concept any more. This needs to be implemented or at least an option for leagues to choose. Our long term league now would change to this format in a heartbeat! Make this change Yahoo PLEASE!!!

This still shows as "Gathering Feedback" -- is there any movement here?
Apex Fantasy Leagues does this and more serious players will start moving there if Y! doesn't take some of these bigger feedback items seriously!
Why can't this two-game week idea be implemented as an OPTION for commissioners to add?

To minimize luck and enhance a more fair W/L system.
Combine both ways of league wins, that way someone who was super unlucky and had a harder SOS (PA)
You get a W for H2H, and you get a W for highest total points (top half).
Example: I got a lucky break and played someone with the lowest score and won, but I also scored bottom half for total points that week.
I get a record of 1-1, or .5-.5 either way.
It's a hybrid between the 2.
