Fix win percentage calculation
I finished 9-8-5 in my fantasy baseball league, choosing to tie on purpose and bench some players in the last game, knowing I had the tie locked up and secured a .529 win percentage.
The 7 seed finished 11-10-1 which should be a .523 win percentage.
So I wake up this morning thinking I'm in the playoffs and made a smart decision.
Apparently Yahoo counts ties as half wins when calculating win percentage? Why?
1) That flies in the face of rational people calculating win percentage the normal way
2) This isn't listed anywhere important so people can make decisions based on it
3) If you're counting ties as half wins, that implies you're trying to HELP the people with ties (which you should be doing since they're better than losses), and yet with this calculation you actually HURT the person with the ties.
This needs to be fixed. Please feel free to reach out to me to discuss if needed.
I work in product too, and this was handled the wrong way a couple of different times.
I'd like to know it doesn't happen to anyone else.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
