I'm not sure what this would look like in Yahoo, but I run a hybrid keeper/redraft league where team owners can keep varying numbers of players based on the total points they accummulated in the previous season. For example, the league champion can keep 1000 points-worth of players, whereas each lower-ranked team can keep 50 points less-worth of players, down to the #8 finisher who can keep 650 points-worth of players. (Setting the final ranking of teams requires a consolation bracket, but that's apparently a topic for a different thread.) So the top-ranked team (the league champion) can keep any number of players on their team that totalled less than 1000 points on the season. We also have a maximum point total of 50 points per player, so it would be nice to be able to set this number as well.

Why is it that once everyone selects their keeper, I as the commish still have to go in and enter "draft results" and essentially input everyone's team? Why can't the keepers just be moved over and populate a GM's team? I wish you could set the league to "Dynasty" and then every year your whole team just pops up and is ready to go, nothing to do about it. Maybe if GMs had IR players from the year before they will be prompted to drop players to get back to maximum roster size. Alternatively, the league could be set to "Keeper" and a set number of keepers could be picked and auto imported to a GM's team as a starting point.

Implement the amount of players each manager can keep.

In a keeper/dynasty league, can you add next year's Draft Picks in the "My Team" tab for all teams? Maybe below the rostered players? This would be very helpful to trading purposes.

I like to play in keeper leagues. It would be nice if I could filter out the non-keeper leagues, or vice versa for others.Or maybe allowing us to identify it as a keeper league in our league settings, like a yes/no. Then maybe a shiny K would appear next to the league name in the boards.

Yahoo is losing a lot of Dynasty business to other sites such as sleeper due to lack of dynasty tools, such as a tool to manage the rookie draft or tool to allow off season trades. The rookie draft is the big thing, right now to have a rookie draft in Yahoo you have to post picks to the message board. I commish several dynasty leagues in Yahoo, but several I don't commish have moved to sleeper and I know sleeper is growing this business. Dynasty leagues are often private prize leagues, so it is a revenue opportunity

Would like to have more customization for keepers.
I have been running a keeper league for 12 years now. We only keep rounds 6 and later. I would like everyone drafted in rounds 6 and later to have a "K" to let managers know they are eligible keepers.
We allow FA keepers but they follow a different rules. I would like all players who are FA or who were acquired as FA to have a "k" (lowercase) to allow managers to know they they are keeper eligible but based on different rules.
Currently you have a k for the players that were kept last year. That isnt very helpful for .

We are wanting to open up trades between seasons. Currently, any trading is tracked manually. We would like to see an option to open up trades just as the NFL does, ie, 2 weeks after the Superbowl to two weeks before NFL draft, as an example. With my keeper league, there a 3 year moratorium on players with keepers set at 3. If you have 5 really good players, off-season trading would allow these trades to occur along with draft picks without the potential of losing them to free agency.
Thanks

Hello, you should look into opening the app earlier this year for keeper/dynasty leagues. Most keep leagues run all year. Last year opening in June made it hard to record draft picks drops and trades.
If you opened it in April for the draft it would make running keepers/dynasty much easier -

A system where we could see out all-time record, point scored etc. against the opponents in our league(s). If you wanted to add on to it you could do something like out historic week 12 average or something similar to the sort.

Need to be able to trade out past next year on draft picks. this will help with trading

Allow owners to trade draft picks further than 1 year in the future. Would be a great option for keeper leagues. I think 3 yrs in advance would be ideal. I believe it would keep owners more engaged on their future plans especially since some owners are rebuilding or are in that Win-Now mode. This gives them more flexibility during trades as well.

Yes, we require 4. No more, no less. This would help.

There doesn't need to be a keeper limit. This is where the "approve keeper players" assignment comes in for the commissioner. If you tell your managers that they can only keep, let's say, 5 players, then the manager that kept 6 players loses one at the commissioner's disposal (hopefully the commish is a fair one and doesn't keep the lowest ranked player out of the 6). However, I've run into problems in the past where a manager only wanted to keep, let's say, 6 players out of 7 available keepers. That kind of makes the draft weird a bit because now they get an extra pick.
So, what I started doing a few years ago (and it's worked for my keeper league very well) is letting the managers just keep how ever many players they want. As the commish, I have to assign the keeper players in the draft manually anyway. When I assign the keeper players to the draft, I assign them starting from the very last round of the draft and going upward. This way, the beginning of the draft is fair to everyone and the draft order doesn't get screwed up. I also don't do a "snaking" draft order for my keeper league, I keep it just like in real life. If you have the #1 pick in the first round because you finished last, then you have the #1 pick in every round. It's bad enough that all the good players are already taken/kept by teams, there's no need to be the #1 pick in the first round and then waiting for up to 23 picks before getting your 2nd and 3rd pick. By that time in a keeper league draft, there really will be no good players left.
Yeah, no need to implement a keeper limit. This is the commish's job since they're the one that has to assign the keepers back to their teams anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion. But again, I understand how the current system works. I came to the suggestion board to suggest something different as I'm not a fan of how it currently works.

I would suggest establishing stronger ground rules in your league. A common commish practice for people selecting too many keepers is the commish decides which players go for the manager to make the limit. The idea that the commish may remove a player I really want as a keeper tends to get their attention. It is also common for commishes to choose the keepers for a deadbeat manager. usually some logical approach like keeping the highest rated players works real well to get people motivated. Also, finding replacements for the deadbeats will also give the commish leverage.
The impression I have is you may be being too nice. To run the league successfully, you need to get the attention and respect of the managers.

It's very similar to the roster limit. I can tell everyone what the roster limits are, but again, then it's up to the commish to constantly monitor everyone's roster.

I understand that it can be done by telling people how many to keep, and then verifying it. But this can result in people selecting too many keepers, and then as a commish I have to chase people down and find out who they wanted to keep. If I'm going to have to do that anyway, why bother even using the system?
The point of using a hosting service is to have it make life easier for the commish. To the commenter that said you can already do this, please tell me how.

Some more clarification, the commish TELLS the league how many keepers are allowed and tells them the deadline to get them turned in. The commish than confirms each teams keepers. If someone has too many or too few, the commish makes them change their list before the deadline.
