Ticker Search Field
Recently, whenever I first type in a symbol into the ticker search field and hit "enter", it seems to always pull up the wrong company. I need to again type the symbol slowly to make sure the site finds the symbol before I hit enter. It seems the site is too slow to "lookup" the symbol in the suggested tickers that show below the search field, so even though I type the full, correct symbol that I want to view, the "suggested search" options that show haven't caught up to my typing. It's just a big annoyance that is somewhat recent (within a couple months I think).

It is crazy that this has not been fixed in years. This is probably the first feature anyone would use when coming to Yahoo finance and I would think that this would effect everyone that searches for a stock. Maybe nobody is using Yahoo to search for stock info anymore and I am the only one that is using this feature? Maybe everyone that has used it has since left yahoo and is no longer complaining?

"Further info": Just type, all in one flurry: S-F-I-X-(enter key). You should get the SFIX page. You don't.

This has been my most miserable annoyance on Y. finance ever since this live look up feature was updated. I know most of my tickers and rarely need help. I understand there are less experienced people who might need look up assistance. The problem is it doesn't allow me to request whatever I enter verbatim. There is no opt out of look up assistance and the feature itself is very slow and somewhat buggy (the first entry doesn't always correctly match my ticker even after search settles down) so it changes my correctly entered ticker for wrong ones that suit the system, not me as the user.
I'm mostly using Chrome on Windows and the lookup almost never finds my correct ticker quickly enough before I can hit Enter, usually leading to a wrong company page if I don't wait for it to settle. It is marginally quicker in Firefox but not by much.
Please make it accept whatever I type in the search field and process my input immediately as I hit return, so any additional search required is carried out after that, not before.

Come on Yahoo.. how did this pass QA? This is core functionality.
And now the option chains aren't listing/displaying correcting. Check out SPY. -

Hey Paul, I posted the same thing and they gave me the same answer--give us browser information & screenshots. THEY NEED TO TRY IT FOR THEMSELVES. I am interpreting their response to you and I as 'the runaround'. It is plain and simple. I put in 'TLT' in the search bar and hit enter, and I get 'TLRY. NOT TLT. Thanks for posting this. It would be great if everyone voted this one up, as they have been listing these as 'responded to' by telling everyone that posts about it to provide browser and screenshot information.

The issue happens when I access the main Yahoo Finance page https://finance.yahoo.com/
The top search field "Search for news, symbols, companies. I see the issue when using Chrome on my desktop computer at work and home.
