Please indicate if there are emails in spam! I almost missed paying a bill on time because it was in spam and I did not notice it!

I keep forgetting to check Spam as this new version doesn't give alerts- whyyy? I almost strangled someone thinking they weren't replying to an important email, but there it was in Spam.

Agreed, unbelievable that this isn't indicated!

YES! It's a MUST!
Without this indicator it is very easy (and likely) to miss important mails which end up in the spam folder by error.
(A count of unread items in SPAM folder is also acceptable).
It was available on the "classic" Yahoo!
How hard can this be?!
What would be the drawback?! -

Yes! Why did they remove the notification next to it that tells you how many messages are in the folder. Now you can't even tell if there is anything in there unless you click on it. I already missed several important messages. Even messages from contacts were in there and I had no idea!

Hello, I agree with this request. I don't see a disadvantage in showing the number of unread emails in the Spam folder by default. Even if there is one, you could at least offer an option to "turn on" this feature. And please find a way to inform your Yahoo Mail Pro customers of this new feature!
Thank you, ...Markus Puttlitz -

Agree, as the new version of yahoo is dysfunctional.

I add my voice to this cause! I tried new version of Yahoo mailbox several times before and always returned to the old version due to important things missing in the new one. This time I'm forced to stay with the new version because the old one is getting cancelled for good, so please make EACH folder ("Spam" including) show the counter of unread items in it!
It can't be that difficult and it is extremely important, especially when the automatic Spam filter makes plenty of stupid and unbelievable mistakes. I just missed 3 emails from a friend and only by chance found them in Spam, when I randomly checked it. The emails have always the same form and always come from the same address, so I really have no idea why these 3 ended up in Spam in the first place. He sends them from his phone and they always have (No Subject) in place of subject, no body and only "text_0.txt" attachment with the intended message written inside, so there's really no reason for the automatic filter to assign some into Inbox and others into Spam.
It would also be nice to have an option to disable all filtering, including the automatic spam filter. It's always better to get spam in the Inbox than to miss important emails because the system decides to hide or remove them without user's approval.

Please have the spam folder display number of emails within so that we have the opportunity to review them and save any that have been incorrectly filtered. I have lost work for my business due to this oversight!!!
Bring back the old version!! -

This is a MUST.
And yet in the past year it hasn't been implemented? Incredible. Seems like a very quick fix.

I was thinking how lucky I was not to be getting spam. I've just found THREE IMPORTANT emails in spam. Why on earth you are classifying them as spam, I have absolutely no idea. Two are from reputable businesses and one from a local council. How many have I missed since this xxxx stupid new Yahoo mail appeared?

On the left side panel, please add the count of items in each folder or sub-folder and remember whether I have show or hidden for each sections. Thank you.

How hard could it be to add an indicator? Why should I have to keep looking into the folder to see if anything's there? Honestly...

Right!! I missed applying for a job opportunity because the recruiter's email went to the spam folder and I was not aware that Yahoo had stopped showing the number of emails on the spam Folder. So I thought for the longest time, "oh, ok, no spam emails, until one day I clicked on it. Stupid developers, every time they "improve" something Yahoo gets worse!

hate the newer version of yahoo mail. in the old version, the folders column on the left showed the total number of all unread messages in each folder. after updating to the new version, all folders EXCEPT the spam folder show the total number of unread emails. how do i get yahoo mail to start showing the totals in the spam folder again? currently, with yahoo not showing the total # of unread emails in the spam folder, i have no notification when a message(s) get dumped in there.

Please re-implement showing number of unread messages in SPAM and Trash. I use the number for SPAM to remind me to check it, and if I see "unread" items in the Trash I know to check and see if I deleted something by accident. Now I forget to check the SPAM folder until there are 3000 pieces in there, then checking is basically useless. Since, albeit rarely, legitimate mails get in SPAM, I like to have a manual scan of them before deleting.

Sometimes half of my messages from certain senders get filtered out and others get through, so I never know if something accidentally dumped in there. This is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL!!! It's bad enough that without that I may have to switch all my stuff to a different email entirely! EXTREMELY frustrating!!!

Yes, I miss this too! And since the spam emails get deleted automatically, I missed out on many messages that accidentally ended up in my spam folder before I realised that I was still getting spam, but Yahoo stopped showing it in their New Mail format. Today, when I decided to revert back to Classic, just to see how it was, I noticed that it's a function they had taken away on purpose! I don't mind the New Mail look, but this function is crucial - too often important mails can end up in the spam folder and I don't always remember to check if it looks as if the Spam folder is empty.
