How can we improve New Mail?

Please indicate if there are emails in spam! I almost missed paying a bill on time because it was in spam and I did not notice it!

    Old Yahoo mail showed numbers of unread emails in spam and trash. New Yahoo email does not. Only count is on the inbox.

    Yes, I expect to see the number of Emails in Each folder. I had not Opened the SPAM folder for several days, as there was no FILE COUNT. I was suspiscious as to where the SPAM was going.
    Lo and Behold>> I had 187 Emails in the folder with no indication that I had any.

    So how does this rank 257th ?

    Very important to show number of emails in spam and inbox and sent, drafts, etc.

    Put the number back for emails in SPAM, Trash, etc.

    As several other people have said, restore the Unread count for the Spam folder! How can I tell when there are messages there that might not be spam? Your spam filtering often has false positives; I found one just now that was 2 days old, just because I noticed that there didn't seem to have been any spam for longer than usual, and checked and discovered that you've just removed that indicator, without any warning ("Try the new Yahoo mail" doesn't have a list of changes, so the only obvious one is the new themes).

    Emails going to spam folder not showing if any emails in spam are listed.
    unless I open the spam box I don't know if anything is there.

    When there is no count of messages in the spam folder, there is no longer a motivation to peek in there to see if anything should be recovered from there that is not spam.

    I agree with this! The spam and trash folders should show the number of unread messages in each one. I used this information to know when to check my spam folder.

    I can refresh the inbox by clicking on "inbox". But, the other issue of the spam folder not displaying the number of emails inside IS a problem I would like to see fixed.

    This is also a problem for me as well. The spam folder does not display the number of messages inside, so there is no way to know if there are any there unless you actually open the folder.

    I need to see the number of messages in the spam folder so I know when to peek inside for real email messages intended for me so I can pull them out. I used to be able to see an email count number on the folder itself. Please put that back.

    Add numbers of unread emails in spam and trash as was the case in the old version of Yahoo mail.

    Same problem, please fix this so we can see number of emails in spam and trash folder without having to open them.

    yes please, every time I look at my mail, I have spam, showing the number of spam emails makes me take a quick look and delete them
    Without a number I do not look and do the clean up.
    Going through a couple of days spam is everytime I am not happy with whoever took the decision to take this nice feature off.

    And I want to see the number of messages in each folder, not just Spam. And bring back that trashcan!! I don't have time to click on every message in Spam to delete them. I glance at them quickly, use the Not Spam button (which also disappeared) to bring non-spam back to the Inbox, then hit the trashcan to delete the rest. Less than one minute to take care of Spam. Now you are making me work at it. Bring back the Not Spam button as well. Heck, bring back the old version or have a way for us to go back to it like you promised.

    I agree 1000% I get tons of spam every day and now it doesn't indicate there are any in there so I have to click on it and it is soooo slow!!

    Why not show the amount of posts in spam and trash? plus how do I go back to old Yahoo mail?

    If there are messages in my SPAM folder, I don't know any longer because the number of such messages is no longer shown, i.e. Spam (6).
    In other words I have to remember all the time to click on the spam item to check if there are any messages in the spam file. Not the end of the world but it is irritating.
