Ad blocker is for my protection, not to deny you ad revenue
Until third-party ads stop being a significant source of malware, using an ad blocker is a smart, even necessary, protective measure. When you can assure me that it's not possible for a malicious ad to make its way into my browser via Yahoo or any ad network is uses, I'll be happy to add Yahoo to my whitelist.

I don't even know how to add yahoo to my white list.

Yahoo mail was the reason I installed ad blocker in the first place - animated, swirling, flashing ads gave me migraines

Absolutely correct!!
How dare Yahoo! or any other web host try to send me ads when there's potential danger that comes with them. I won't EVER whitelist yahoo because they were rude enough to ask when they know adverts can be harmful.
IF YOU WANT TO BRING ME A SERVICE, IT HAD BETTER BE A GOOD SERVICE. I can be a helpful user but you need to host a helpful service. We're sorry that email isn't a cash-cow.... But it isn't our fault!!!!!!

I have the right to use a add blocker. Gmail has no problems with it.

Well I had a paid account for 20 years. How many times were all your accounts hacked. Not only do you scan my account for marketing your new privacy terms allow you to read my emails whoever you want

The reason why Yahoo is now my 'spam' email instead of my TRUE personal email is this. If you cannot adhere to the rules of the adblocker apps that are for OUR SAFETY, then you don't need us. Yahoo has forgotten the basic reason for email and is now just thinking it's an avenue for data mining and ad revenue. Sorry/not sorry, but GMAIL doesn't do this to its customers.

Ad blocking is a necessity, for exactly the reasons detailed in this idea. An email service asking to be whitelisted is like a barber asking us not to wear a helmet when we ride a bike: a stupid idea that places business revenue over user safety. We're not here to generate ad revenue for Yahoo. If you can't run a web mail service for branding reasons alone, own that and shut it down. But you can't shove ads at us and expect us to stay.

I installed ad blocker because 'animated' ads were making me sea sick while trying to read my emails.

instead of asking for whitelists they should just adhere to the rules set by the adblocker applications. all are fairly easy to set up and make the ad experience non-obtrusive to the users. I agree with the request until the last line of the explanation: I will not add anything to my whitelist. Get whitelisted by the app directly by following their rules; applies to EVERYONE using the app instead of begging your users directly.

I use an ad-blocker for this reason, and also because they waste my bandwidth and slow things down, and also because they're often offensive, or get in the way of the content, but _mainly_ because they _move_. If your ads didn't move, perhaps they'd get through Adblock's "allow non-annoying ads" filter, which I do have selected. I spotted this post when I came here to leave feedback about missing images; I tried turning off Adblock, but the images still didn't appear.

This comment is the so much nicer and (hopefully) more enlightening for the people at Yahoo to read. I agree 100%. I won't be keeping my yahoo account for much longer if I continue to see this annoying pop up asking me to whitelist and leave feedback. I'm protecting myself with ad blocker, Yahoo until you can guarantee your site's safety.

If they needed revenue, instead of ads why not ask users to use a small portion of their pc to mine crypto while using yahoo.
