Contacts hard to find, edit, alter, and delete
Since the new changes it has become much more difficult to search and edit or delete a single contact. It would be very helpful if a dropdown menu were available to search by several choices such as ending email address or last name or company. partial name, with the ability to select the item and go to edit.

I've seen similar posts dating back to January of 2019. Why is this not addressed yet? The interface for the contacts is terrible. I have over 1k contacts and it's making me delete them one at a time. This is terrible user interface design.

Yahoo has corrupted my contact list and I can't reach them without paying for some help service. Absolutely disgusting. Today I found that many contacts are missing (ones with aol.com addresses) and a single contact with aol.com address has the other addresses under it as alternate emails. The contact name, phone and street address has been reset to one of the other email's info. If I delete those alternate email addresses, they are lost -- but they used to be separate contact entries. However, many of the emails I don't recognize and I don't know if they were contacts or just got added, like from a distribution list or something. Bottom line - my contact list has been corrupted and I've lost contacts. I run Windows 10 and have no virus alerts or infection I know of. Yahoo needs to get involved, but why should I pay, I'm just using their online free product? It broke, they need to fix it.

Only one contact list comes up now and it is just for info. I never use this one contact list you left for me. There are at least two others that I use monthly. I don't even know how to rebuild them, because everything is so complex, and your directions go right over the head of those of us who are not very computer literate. Really! "Progress" is often not helpful.

If it helps vent some of your frustration you can keep making comments here......but just know that Verizon (Yahoo) isn't going to change a thing! Hope you aren't paying for this non service. Such a shame that an email/calendar service that was so much better then gmail or outlook chose to tamper with it. OK, I feel somewhat better😏

Can't view all contact details without going to edit function. The notes section is the worst having to scroll forever. When searching for "Chase" I have multiple contacts due to different account numbers. Only a few of them show up like they use to. In order to view I must now include part of the account #. Then I must chose edit in order to view all the details.
.
Go to contacts and try to search for the first letter that comes to mind.... OK "G" Do you get maybe two names that start with a "G" and only 4 other suggestions that have nothing to do with "G" ! I have many "Gs" in my contacts and yet I get to see 2!I change and save edits and they change back! What a mess this is!!!
Some how the auto suggest function in composing a email is not working. I delete suggestions I never use and they just come back even though I never use the emails it suggests. The Emails I need all the time almost never show up!
No more first middle and last names!!!! Thank God you left nickname! What were you thinking running the names together leaving no sort options?

Some correctly added contacts cannot be added to a "List". and it should be alphabetized according to last names! not first names. If I am completely missing something could you at least broadcast instructions on how to use it!!

Initially Yahoo decides without my consent to remove my personal email from my business account. As a result all email contacts (5000+) were left in my personal email account "Contacts" by "List" compiled for 18+ years- no way to print or download "Contacts" by "Lists" which is devastating to me!!!! They refuse to remedy the situation - is an attorney or programmer on board???

Users need to be able to sort on the various contact fields, i.e. last name, first name, city, state, zip. I noted there was a suggestion in July 2019 for a sort by last name. While I realize your team is working hard to improve yahoo mail, I wonder if the leadership has your team members running in circles and putting out fires. I strongly recommend you establish release cycles and communicate with your users on planned improvements and release dates.

ou had a feature where when you added a new contact you could just click on a drop-down list and choose the list you wanted to add them to

Robert, I agree with what you are saying, and I am the original ("Anonymous") poster / commentor of this thread. But since you said "... when YOU ..." (make a change), etc., you should know you are NOT complaining to YAHOO. Unfortunately, this is merely a BLOG for USERS to share ideas. As you will see, YAHOO NEVER answers any of us. Only other Users do. Yahoo makes it extremely difficult to contact them directly, ask questions, give feedback, or to complain,.

I agree with the many critiques about Yahoo Contacts.
The old version worked fine:First, it was listed alphabetically by LAST NAME. I have many friends named Steve. If I am looking for Steve Norwood it would be faster to look for it under Norwood than to go through a group of Steves!.
Furthermore, instead of the entire list of contacts under each letter of the alphabet, the way it had been, I am now forced to "drop down" to open up for more names.
WHEN YOU MAKE A MISTAKE IN AN UPDATE, PLEASE GO BACK AND CORRECT IT.
The old system was easy to access (There was a heading called "Contacts") and was easy to use.
IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT!! -

1. Yahoo used to have a "fix duplicates" option that, while it wasn't perfect, it did actually work. It was a beta program and now I can't find it...using the updated "Basic Mail" or the newest version. Can you please bring that back? Switching phones over the years has created duplicate contacts (sometimes even FOUR!!)
2. This feedback forum is asking me to sign into Yahoo, when I'm already signed in.
3. When clicking on a single contact, I now have to choose Edit/Delete (where before I could do either when just opening the Contact), and the Edit function doesn't also have the option to delete, which is an unnecessary step.
Because of all of the duplication, I now have almost 2,400 contacts so this extra step is extreeemely frustrating, inefficient and time consuming.

Currently contacts and their emails can not be transferred from "ALL" to a specific "LIST" of choice. without cumbersome process, often the existing contact can not be retyped in specific list. ONE should be able to automatically to organize contacts in certain lists/categories to make the email experience efficient. ****************@yahoo.com

why can I only view contacts on the right side of my emails. The other two icons turn into tabs, why not contacts ? why are my contacts no longer in alpha order ? why can't I print my contacts book (other than in excel format), why can't I view each contact they way I used to ? why has contacts been ruined even when I revert back to basic version ?

Please add back in to print via Mail Labels as well. Export to a CSV is worthless to me.

Do NOT UNDERSTAND WHY YOU HAD TO CHANGE THE CONTACT LIST IN THE NEWEST VERSION WHEN THEY WEREN'T BROKEN SO would like to see the Contact list show: 1) ALL records in stead of this having to click on "See More"; 2) Be able to have them in Alpha order by First name; 3) Appear on page of by them self instead of this listing them off to the right of the inbox; 4) then -- like the old basic version will show name, email address, and description of contact name i.e friend, family, business associate, etc. I invite you to contact me in person so I can better explain.

Adding a person to a list is very difficult as there is no explanation of how to this. The old version was far better
