For BCC recipient, "reply all" function should be by default disabled
Dear Yahoo Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to propose an enhancement to your email client's BCC (blind carbon copy) functionality to better protect user privacy and prevent accidental "reply all" incidents involving BCC'd recipients.
As you may be aware, when a user is included in the BCC field of an email, their email address remains hidden from the other recipients. However, if a BCC'd recipient inadvertently clicks "reply all," their involvement in the conversation may be revealed, potentially leading to unintended consequences or embarrassment.
To address this issue, I kindly suggest considering the addition of a built-in, default setting that prevents BCC'd recipients from using the "reply all" function. This feature would act as an additional safeguard to protect the privacy of BCC'd recipients and encourage proper email etiquette.
Here is a potential implementation plan for this feature:
Detect if a recipient is included in the BCC field of an email.
If the recipient is in the BCC field, disable or hide the "Reply All" button or provide a warning message when they attempt to use "Reply All."
In the warning message, remind the user that they were BCC'd and that their email address is hidden from the other recipients. Also, provide the option to continue with "Reply All" if desired, but require an additional confirmation to do so.
Include an option in the email client settings to enable or disable this feature, allowing users to customize their experience based on their preferences.
By implementing this enhancement, your email client would provide an extra layer of privacy protection for BCC'd recipients and promote responsible email communication practices.
Thank you for considering my suggestion. I believe that this feature would be a valuable addition to your email client and would be appreciated by many users. If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
WL
