How can we improve New Mail?

Yahoo Mail is not usable at all. The Return key doesn't work in Mail, so you can't type paragraphs.

The Return/Enter Key does not work at all in Yahoo Mail. You can't end a sentence and hit "Enter" to start a new paragraph. That's completely unusable for me. I now have to set up an entirely new business email and take all of my stuff off of Yahoo because it is unusable. I am losing THOUSANDS of dollars a day because of this problem. FIX IT.

    Where did the colors for letters in e-mails go?
    The 'cursor return' sends e-mails out and away .. that isn't nice
    Mostly how to find controls of colors?
    My time ought not be spent looking for how to change font colors

    I just experienced this problem today and thought it was a problem with my Apple desktop and was about to take it in for repair!! What is happening to Yahoo Mail??? I have never used anything else and now it is changing for the worse and Yahoo does't even bother to let us know what is happening! Will this issue be fixed??

    My enter key does not work. If I want to go to next line or start a new paragraph I had to hit space key to the end and it will take me to next line. Any help? Thank you.

    I have not had this problem. Using Safari 17.1 on a MacBook Air, Ventura 13.6.1.

    return key does not work on yahoo mail but works fine in gmail and word. using chrome.

    Yahoo Team, this is just ridiculous. No client should be this dysfunctional. And your "inability to reproduce the issue" is just incredible. For heaven's sake, start an email, type a line of text, and hit Carriage Return. Sometimes the cursor moves to the next line, sometimes it doesn't. But one can NEVER hit CR twice to break between paragraphs, and usually the cursor disappears entirely, meaning we don't know where we are. This is just appallingly terrible.

    I never experienced this issue. This has been reported by users since nearly 5 months. Are you still having it? And Lauren Ruff, have you ever thought about using a mail manager like Mozilla Thunderbird, Vivaldi browser email client, or anything else, instead of just the webmail interface of your so important account?

    And for people who said they use the Chrome browser... come on, people! Stop using the WORSE EVER browser you can have! It spies you in ways that you cannot opt out! It forces you to new things, not necessarily good or wanted ones, exactly like you are complaining here! My favorite browser today is Vivaldi, in both mobile and computers. Firefox is my second choice. "Chorume" (see the meaning of this word in Portuguese!) browser is something I will never use. I even disabled it completely in my phone, since I cannot uninstall it

    I am having the same issue. I am using a MacBook Air. Not having the issue with any other email (Gmail etc). Refreshing the page is not helping. It is making yahoo mail unusable.

    If you refresh your page, functionality will return to normal.

    Yeah, it's a pain in the butt, but it's better than copy/pasting a "return," which is what I was doing for a while.

    Same here, chain mails have become a long wall of texts with reply back going all over the place, there is no clear way to identify which part of the chain mail i am responding to, in some cases since i replied to a mail and i try to reply again on the same mail, i have ended up replying to myself. what a disaster.

    Hi, I am having the same problem since this weeknd, only in my pc. I can´t write using the enter botton, only in a long long sentence when I forward, eply and / or try a new message. I have the same yahoo mail account for almost 25 years, it will be a very sad situation not to be able tu continue to use it. I hate Gmail, but this situation is unacceptable.

    This happens to me quite often, but not all the time. When it happens, I copy what I was writing and then hit refresh. Usually what I'm writing has disappeared, so I paste my content back in and finish the email. I'm using Chrome. I have an HP computer and am using it.

    The enter key does not work in Mail on my HP laptop, either. I'm using the latest version of Chrome and Win 11. I can compose an email, but the Enter key does nothing. I cannot start a new paragraph when composing an email. I agree with Lauren. It makes my mail look like a third grader composed it. ONE LONG PARAGRAPH....

    Is this an issue you are experiencing on Desktop? We can't seem to replicate. We hit return and it goes to the next line or paragraph just fine. Can you please let us know if you're experiencing this on Desktop? Thanks!
