Display folders on the side bar
I would prefer if the folders section was always visible on the left sidebar. Currently, having to click "Folders" and then select a specific folder adds unnecessary steps to the workflow. Ideally, the folders should be displayed by default for quick access.

Folders are now expandable and stay this way. If you tap on the drop down, the folders will stay expanded. Thanks! We will now mark this as completed.

Are you guys being paid for being on Yahoo, you are blessed indeed to have the opportunity and freedom to speak and and visit with friends, search for important information, just wake up in the morning in a warm friendly home. Be thankful for what you have, it is great to be an American in this world today.

Yes, this new Yahoo sucks. I used to be able to see all of my folders on the left side of the screen. Now, some of them are hidden and I can't see my unread messages as easily. Yahoo was fine the whole time for a decade, why did they change it?????

When temporarily switching back to the old Yahoo Mail to compare the changes, and coming back to new Yahoo Mail, the option to choose between "Compact" or "Expanded Folders" was way at the bottom of the screen on the left hand side, and could not be seen fully. I had to log out of my account to get rid of the prompt and than log back in to my account. (This was on Firefox.)

I use these folder frequently and it's extremely inconvenient to have to select them every time. Needs to be more efficient than this for modern technology.

What you have done with the new email site is terrible. It is not user friendly and not an improvement. Please do not try to fix something that is not broken. This change is a terrible mistake.

I agree with Professor on the UI settings. I also agree with Dan Edwards and Joseph Zimmerman on the Trash and Spam folders.

Also you used to be able to tell what folders had NEW unread messages in them. Now you can't.

I agree with Dan Edwards regarding the Trash and Spam folders. Also, I just want the folders to remain expanded (or collapsed depending on how I last had it) when I refresh the page. I'm referring to the overall Folders menu, not the subfolders, which you did a great job enabling those to persist.

I really want to see the trash and spam folders without having to click anything. It's frustrating when a website sends you a sign in code, and while you're waiting for it to arrive you're toggling between the inbox and spam folder.
I wouldn't need to see them if the spam filtering was better though. Emails from reputable sites are always ending up in spam!
I also want to argue that 'Archive', 'Unread', 'Trash', and 'Spam' are categorically in the wrong place, as these are folders. They should be in the Folders group, not in the Ellipsis group. Makes no sense to me I'm afraid, which is probably why I find it so frustrating every time I try to find the folder, as I'm forgetting that it's badly organised and have to figure it out every couple of days. If it made sense I wouldn't need to remember anything.

I agree with this assessment

Please enable customisation of your folder list so the most current used folders can be added to the visible folders to enable drag and drop easier. ones that are used less frequently could be hidden in "Folders"

I totally agree. I am going back to classic because I like seeing all my folders listed on the left-hand side.

Agree, including making Spam and Trash visible without having to click a drop-down carat or 3 dots. Also, why do we need to log into UserVoice and agree to let them access our yahoo extended profile in order to vote or post a comment? Completely unnecessary, will just result in more spam.

I'm just adding to the pile, but hopefully, you understand how useless this is. It's only a good idea if you never use folders.

You don't want to force users to click the "folders", then get a popup, then scroll down to reach a folder, that is inconvenient even if you do not use many folders. If you regularly filter emails into different folders, then the added clicking step would feel like pain **********, that is more than inconvenient. Why would you choose to get rid of something that worked so well and replace it by a clumsy design?

Strongly second that. The previous version listing the folders directly is so much better than hiding all folders in one box on the sidebar, as done in the updated version. In addition, the previous version also lets you see directly how many new emails are in different folders. For people who filter different emails directly into different folders, this has been the winning feature for me to prefer yahoo mail over other mail providers.
The current design and layout on folders introduce unnecessary overload and cause inefficiency for the users. And some other old and convenient (and thus established and neat) features are also gone in the update, I cannot even easily to click a button to write a new email. -

Agreed! The people who "simplified" the new look clearly don't do anything but read emails in their inbox.

Agree. I want to see the Trash and Spam folders on the main screen.
