4. Correct the bug, features to direct us to the certain comments/interactions that we are dealing with

   Getting a notification that someone replied to my comments but cannot see it regardless of the article.

   Can't even see the actual comment I posted.

   This concern been running on my end for 2 months already.

5. Reliable spam filtering is currently not guaranteed

   Yahoo Mail is currently experiencing a critical functional regression that significantly impairs the reliable use of the service.

   As of today, the option to permanently block individual senders in the browser has been removed. At the same time, there continues to be a high volume of spam. This means that a key protective feature has been lost, and effective spam control can no longer be reliably guaranteed.

   To ensure that important emails are not overlooked, it is necessary to manually check and clean out the spam folder on your mobile device multiple times a day. This situation is systemically enforced, as relevant messages regularly end up in the spam folder, while the folder itself quickly becomes overloaded with unwanted messages.

   The intended spam control chain is thus structurally disrupted:

   – Automatic spam detection does not reliably distinguish between important and unwanted messages
   – Active protective measures through permanent sender blocking have been eliminated in the browser
   – Mobile devices lack an equivalent, directly accessible control function
   – Spam must be managed manually on an ongoing basis to enable productive use

   Under these conditions, there is a real risk that important communications, deadlines, or security-related notifications will be overlooked. At the same time, the risk posed by phishing or fraudulent messages increases when spam cannot be effectively controlled.

   Additionally, there is no simple way to reduce spam structurally. A one-click function available directly from the spam folder or the app to filter words, patterns, or entire domains would enable a sustainable reduction in recurring spam patterns.

   In the long term, spam should be prevented more effectively at the system level so that unwanted messages are not delivered in the first place whenever possible, and users are not forced into constant manual management.

   The following is therefore required:

   – Immediate restoration of the sender-blocking function in the browser
   – Full, directly accessible implementation of this function in the mobile app
   – Introduction of a simple one-click word, pattern, and domain filter function
   – Sustainable improvement of spam detection
   – Stronger system-level preventive measures prior to delivery
   – Reliable spam filtering without the need for multiple daily manual checks

8. Where is the mute button?

   When you redesigned the comments section, you forgot a few things:

   1) the option to mute users! that way we can safely skip having to see troll remarks. Otherwise we have to report them. Do you need that much more work?

   2) the option to downvote dumb, harmful, or outright rude comments. I don't think many of them need a smiling emoji and with how hateful the comments usually are, they don't rate a positive response, which us all you're giving us. Which leaves no option but reporting them

   So let's get that fixed. Soon if you can please.

13. Don't refresh the comments page while I'm typing

    Sometimes while I'm typing a comment or reply on the comment section of a news article, the page automatically refreshes and my text is wiped away. I know you don't have to allow the page to do that. So please, make the page logic recognize that I'm typing a comment, and disallow page refresh until after I have successfully posted my text.

15. New Comment Format - Notification Bell?

    I've tried loading and reloading Yahoo News stories with the new comment formatting on Chrome, Safari, and Firefox, and there's no notification bell to alert commenters as to whether there are any replies.

    Enagement with other commenters is the SOUL of Yahoo News comments and the reason we're here. PLEASE fix this bug before offering a wide release of the new format.

    To whom it may concern,

    I’m writing as a long-time Yahoo user to express frustration with the current state of the comment sections on Yahoo News articles.

    Over time, the moderation and visibility of comments increasingly appear one-sided and ideologically skewed. Many users have noticed that viewpoints which lean conservative or challenge prevailing narratives are frequently down-ranked, hidden, or removed, while other perspectives remain visible. Whether intentional or not, the result creates the perception that Yahoo is promoting a narrow ideological viewpoint rather than allowing open discussion.

    Comment sections should be a place where readers with different opinions can debate respectfully. When moderation appears uneven, it discourages participation and undermines trust in the platform.

    Yahoo has long positioned itself as a major news and discussion hub. For that reason, it’s especially important that comment moderation be transparent, balanced, and respectful of diverse viewpoints.

    I encourage Yahoo to review its moderation policies and algorithms to ensure they promote genuine open dialogue rather than amplifying only certain perspectives.

20. Question regarding filtering/sorting of relevant stock news

    I am reaching out to you with an interest in the way you have designed your Yahoo Finance application, whether on desktop, iOS or similar - and specifically, in the way that news you code the sorting/filtering-mechanism that 'chooses' which news are shown under which stocks.

    I am currently building an news-application, where I am trying to utilize news API's and LLMs to gather relevant news articles for the user, but I am having issues with figuring out how I should approach and code a proper function, that ensures that the user only sees news relevant to their stock. And I thought what better way, than to contact one of the most well-driven and structured finance applications.

    I don't expect your way of coding this mechanism to be open source (although it would be fantastic if it was), but are you able to share some tips or maybe a general description of the mechanisms you deploy to successfully sort and filter relevant news for each company?

    E.g. the company First Solar (FSLR): This company currently has around 12 'Recent news'-articles shown in the desktop-app. In this specific case, I would expect the different news to primarily be sorted by title, as all the titles include 'First Solar' in them?

    But in another example, e.g. Applied Digital (APLD): Some of the 'Recent News'-articles does not contain Applied Digital or APLD in the title, but in the content of the article - so I would expect that to be the sorting mechanism - by mentions of the company name in either the title, or in the articles content.

    These seem "simple" and do-able. But there are other companies that I have a way harder time of succesfully sorting/filtering news for. One of these companies is PayPal. What I have experienced is, that when i filter news by mentions of the company in the title or content, it can be a challenge with companies like PayPal, Visa or anything similar.
    The reason for this is of course, that some shopping-, store- or selling articles (which are usually very irrelevant to the stock) contain methods of payment, e.g. PayPal and so on and so forth. Which is why these companies are included. How do you solve this? Is it simply down to the quality of the news API's that I use to draw the news, or do you have an intelligt method/concept of handling this?

    I am unsure whether this is the right place to contact for this sort of elaborate question, but I hope it can find it's way to the right person. I would really appreciate the help with my project.
