Dynasty/Keepers - Leave league open to allow trading, adds, and drops during the offseason.
This would allow managers to make all league transactions within the platform, including adds, drops, and trades, throughout the year.

I agree with this proposal. Why is Yahoo the only fantasy site that doesn't make room for Keeper/dynasty leagues to make changes/trades etc. during the entire year? To **** with that. It really is a pain ********** to have to track everything on separate spreadsheet.
Get with the times Yahoo! You are antiquated!

This is a great idea. ESPN does it. Many other sites do it. It's the best thing for Keeper/Dynasty leagues. I have no idea why Yahoo doesn't do it. Just lazy or cheap I guess. Yahoo is 20 years behind the times.

It would be like IR, commish could determine how many reserve spots each team gets.

Expanding rosters doesn't work because there isn't any roster spot that keeps them inactive. You can only expand rosters with more bench spots and that gives owners the opportunity to insert the taxi squad players at will. The point of the taxi squad is to keep them separate so you can take chances on guys with taking up active roster positions. Once you decide to "call someone up" then you would have to drop another player from your team to make room for the taxi squad player.

Please implement the developmental squad spots!! It is as easy as just giving us the "Reserved" position, so they wouldn't count against roster limits.

I like this, but don't limit the amount of reserved spots.

Yes I don't know why it has to go down. It was nice to have access on 4/30 but I sure wanted to set up the next season the day after the super bowl. Sometimes managers make it near impossible (half of my managers have yet to approve their teams..one click!!)

For keeper leagues it would be cool to be able to have an inactive developmental roster spot or two. Basically at the end of your draft, the league has one or two rounds of picks to pick players to stash for future years. These players can't be used in your active lineup until activated, and once activated, can't be moved back to developmental list. Also you can only have x number of active players on your roster, so to activate someone from this list, you would have to drop a player to make room. For keeper leagues this would give you the ability to speculate on a position for a couple years and see what could happen, without affecting your active roster and weakening your team this year. Christin Michael would be a good example of someone to put on this list. You can still have a full active roster to choose from each weak, but stash him for when he gets an opportunity down the road.

Every other credible fantasy site allows year-long trades and roster updates. Why can't Yahoo? Yahoo is so backwards and technologically incompetent compared to some much smaller sites. it's like Yahoo engineers are children... so limited in skills that they can't catch up to the rest of the fantasy world and do what everyone is asking.
Plain and simple: Yahoo is outdated and obsolete in its approach. Yahoo is arrogant in that it NEVER listens to its users suggestions. Yahoo simply doesn't care what its users really want.
Shocked that yahoo hasn't folded yet. That's coming down the pike. I wouldn't be investing in this shlock company if I were you.

Not all the detailed stats are archived from previous seasons. You may be better off using a site that focuses on sports exclusively and football more specifically, like nfl.com, to get this info.

Anonymous, you must work for yahoo. All you do is make excuses for them and tell us how we can do it ourselves which most of us already know and do. We are saying its a pain ********** and yahoo should make it user friendly or people wont stay with the site to play fantasy sports. Also you keep saying they don't run it year round, well no **** that's also obvious. Yahoo brags how they have such a great fantasy site and we are giving them feedback to make it better which is what they ask for. We don't need you on here nullifying anything we say by more or less saying suck it up and keep putting up with mediocrity.

The Dynasty/Keeper functionality is really lacking. When I import draft order with trades it populates in the order that people signed up this season and not the order in which we finished the previous season. yes I know I can edit the order but I shouldn't have to if its imported.
Also when we set keepers the commish still has to go through and assign them to the respective teams to "keep" them. what a pain!!! If we set keepers why don't they automatically go on the team they came from. Finally Dynasty must be usable year round or whats the point of saying you offer dynasty. If some of these issues aren't fixed we will be looking for a different server and your site wont survive if you don't try to keep up with the fantasy craze. -

As others have said, you can run a dynasty league in Yahoo without too much difficulty. Simply change the number of keepers allowed to include the entire roster.
There are a few things that could really improve this though:
1) Leave the league open year round. Yahoo is getting better and better on this front. They just auto-renewed my league from last year. The "opening" date used to be in July. So it is only February thru May that the league is now shut down. Hopefully next year the option to remain open year round will become available.
2) Make it a bit easier to import the previous years rosters. Actually rather than have to "import" then, have them be always available with the same owners. Then the only change that need to be made would be to transfer the team should a previous owner exit the league.
3) Give the draft a few more automatic options. With Custom Draft order, the commish can certainly do whatever needs to be done.
But for example, some leagues put all keepers into the first or last rounds of the draft. For a 15-payer roster with 6 keepers, this in effect, takes the keepers off the table and simply leaves a 9-round draft to flesh out the roster. Having an option to auto-configure the draft like this would be sweet for such leagues. This would not affect me personally as I no-longer play in any league with this format, but it might attract more leagues to Yahoo.

Making this feature available for dynasty/keeper league support all year around makes business sense when I start considering switching to ESPN because they have this availability. I have fought hard with members of my league to use Yahoo instead of ESPN because of the other great things about Yahoo Fantasy Football but this may be the straw that breaks the camel's back. ESPN Fantasy Football leagues have ads on their sites year round, too. It seems like an easy decision to either lose my business and clicks or make this change.

A dynasty league is basically a keeper league but you keep all or nearly all of your players. You can run a dynasty league as a keeper league, there is not a separate dynasty option.

Have a dynasty league feature that allows you earlier access to the league almost all year round and have a maximum of 40-50 players you can have on a roster. Also allow commissioner to edit more rules and deadlines.
