Rosters/Lineups - Roster limits for positions.
This feature would allow commissioners to set the maximum and minimum number of players a team can roster at each position at a given time. For example, teams can have a maximum of 3 QBs on their roster or a team can have a minimum of 1 kicker. Currently there is no way to set the maximum or minimum number of players a team can roster at each position.

Another bad idea. Fantasy football mirrors economics in many ways. If quarterbacks are a valuable commodity and my team is terrible it might not be a bad idea to horde QBs to up their trade value. Fantasy football is like the stock market which is why it is fun.

The commish can create a league rule with caps for position, and then drop players from the roster's of teams violating the rules by using commish tool Edit Rosters, and the commish can impose penalties up to and including locking the team of the violator.

This is important. I don't want some guy hoarding 10 rb or 8 wr. There needs to be a max or at least an option to limit this from happening. Or in 2 qb leagues or qb flex leagues, putting a cap on qb makes it so that everyone at least has a shot at add/drop. At least give us the option

Your commish can control this by making it a league rule, and if someone exceeds the number of players per position the commish can remove them from the player's roster using Edit Roster and/or lock the team.

Please make it so you can set the amount of players per position on a team!!! Alot of leagues don't like hoarding and counting all players every week so they dont go over the limit gets annoying and can ruin a league if someone goes over. EVERY other site has it. Please make this an option!!! For example we use 5 max rbs and wrs but there is now way to prevent managers from having more than 5 at a time.

You mean roster spot for starting lineups, right? but a team can have 8 QBs on roster.

For NFL fantasy football please make it so you can set positional limits for your rosters. Some of us that play do not like hoarding and like to keep it at a certain number. Something is no setting you have to keep checking on the teams to make sure they don't have a certain amount of players in a position playing

Other websites already have this. This should be a no-brainer to have this added to use in a league

I vote yes for this.

agreed. Positional roster limits are typical on most sites. Let each private league make its own decisions please.
Yahoo: Please stop sucking so bad. You are an embarrassment to the term "customer service".

Why doesn't yahoo allow positional roster limits like all other FF sites? WTF? Doe Yahoo even have a clue as to what it is doing? This is like Fantasy Football from the 1980's.
People are correct about Yahoo royally sucking.

every other sirte permits league to have positional roster limits. But not Yahoo. Why? Because Yahoo is so... so.. so... 1992.
Play FF at yahoo so you can feel like your playing in the dark ages.

This a must! I run a 12 team Yahoo league with a full flex position and 3 QB limit. It is a hassle to continually police each roster. This option should have been in place years ago.

That's a good option to have to be able to limit 2 QBs

There should definitely be an option to allow a league to limit the number of QBs on a roster. We use start 1 QB so alot of leagues that do that would like the option to limit each team to 2 QBs on their roster.

geezuz... just give private leagues the option to make its settings as they wish. No one is suggesting this for your lame "public" leagues.
Fact: Every other fantasy site allows a league to set position limits if it wants. It should be up to each league to decide if it wants this. It should not be up to Yahoo's arbitrary opinion.
This yet another fine example of Yahoo's inexplicable arrogance. It really is a ****** company. company. -

Putting limits on the number of players a team can have at a position
will not stop teams from cheating.
The Commish should solve the cheating issue by deleting players
and locking teams. -

This "problem" is not really the problem.
The true "problem" involves how a league's commissioner sets up the scoring system.
If you set up your league with RBs and QBs scoring lots more points than the other positions, then of course you'll have managers drafting extra RBs and QBs.
If you set up your league so that DEFs and Ks and return specialists also have good value,
then managers will choose extra DEFs and Ks and return specialists.
The issue here involves supply and demand.
WRs have an over-supply, so you don't benefit from picking extra WRs unless return specialists are rewarded in your league specs.
DEFs and Ks are actually in shorter supply than RBs and QBs. It is amazing how much differently a manager will draft when DEFs and Ks and return specialists are valuable positions on a roster.
So, just reduce the value of RBs & QBs and watch this "problem" disappear. -

I agree with the note posted here on Jan.26.
It sucks when a league's commissioner changes the rules after the draft.
And the problem isn't just for this proposed rule.
The problem exists for almost every change that a commissioner can make.
Rule changes simply shouldn't be allowed after the draft is completed.
