Rosters/Lineups - Increase maximum number of roster slots.
This change would increase the maximum number of roster slots your league can have (not including IR slots). Currently the maximum is 30 roster slots.

MFL is the way to go. 45 player rosters? Must drag on for several hours. Ugh

I agree with additional roster spots, I have been a commissioner for several years, and have used 30 spots without IDP, this is the first year we have added IDP, and severely disappointed the bench numbers are restricted. I will actually be reading forums and suggesting several more changes, if Yahoo can't keep up with other sites, we will have to move on. I understand we take advantage that it is a free league, but there may be other options, anyone have any suggestions of other free leagues with more customizable options?

I currently use Yahoo for my Dynasty league because that's where our other leagues are and it allows for ease of access. That being said, it would certainly improve our league if we were allowed to have more roster spots. I can circumvent most other dynasty features you are lacking, such as off-season support, by using Google Docs and putting in work on my end, but the roster limit is one that is impossible to get around. Dynasty leagues are becoming more and more popular. These leagues are going to be taking their business to other sites like MFL if this simple change isn't made.

I have made this suggestion several times. 30 Roster spots are not enough for an IDP Dynasty league. I think yahoo needs to expand there max roster to at least 35.

we want to open a league with defensive players, with just 30 roster spots, we cant really do that, we are going to use ESPN instead because they do 40, if it were 40 or 45 spots we would gladly use yahoo instead

@kelly
Actually, you would be incorrect. I'm not connected to Yahoo! in anyway.

Anonymous,
Your comments has no logic. The fact that your handle is Anonymous, tells that you are from within the Yahoo corporate structure.

The ST points go to the D, and the K and P return setting numbers go to the D and to IDP players if your league uses that setting.

Actually, it is not DST, it is under the "Kick & Punt Returning" settings. My point is the positions, more that the scoring, to make Special Team more relevant, along with the Offense Team and the Defense Team.
-
Steve Huslig commented
The option to count return yards is available in private leagues. Also, the TDs scored by the K and P returner count for the DST already, and if your rostered WR, like Beasley with Dallas, scores on a kick return, he gets the 6 points.
In IDP leagues, if one of your DBs returns a kick for a TD, they get the 6 points and yardage.

In order to keep Special Teams relevant, I propose adding two positions:
KR = Kick Returner
PR = Punt ReturnerEach NFL team designate a player, usually a wide receiver, slotted on its special team roster. Adding the above two roster positions will allow leagues to utilize the return yards and the return touchdowns into their grand scheme of their football strategy.
The above will provide a valuable option for league owners, whereas, some wide receivers and runnings backs may be on the low end of their respective depth chart, but may be on the top end of the special team depth chart.
If IDP's can be included into the roster positions, so should special team positions that can provide some scoring potential for team owners and allow leagues take full advantage of of most of the NFL positions.

Just make it have no limit or like 40 0r 50 for super deep roster leagues and super shallow leagues (8 team) that want to have many starting positions to increase the difficulty for the leagues that are a little shallow.

Please allow expanded rosters so we can continue to use yahoo fantasy football....we had to leave just because of this

Agree so much. Already moved our 12 year old dynasty league to MFL after we increased our total roster size this offseason. MFL is garbage. Please yahoo, increase roster size to 35 so we can come back!

Increase maximum roster size to 35. Moved our 12 year old dynasty league to MFL this year because we increased our total roster over 30. MFL sucks. Please Yahoo, increase roster size!

Allow more than 30 players, we had to go to another site because of the 30 player max and our league voted to allow 32 players.
We didn't want to leave but the yahoo limitations forced us out.
-
Steve Huslig commented
Just fyi, IR positions don't count towards the 30.

Just need to have more roster positions. If you already have the criteria for 30, what is a few more? My league needs 31 and your system only allows 30. I don't see an area to cut from my league, so I think your system should handle more positions.

I wish I could give all 50 of my votes to this one. 30 players is so extremely restrictive for dynasty players. This is the single reason why we may be migrating away from Yahoo! this year, and that is after being a loyal fantasy player on this site for a decade. Just do it already, I'm not even sure why this policy is in place.

With more players trying dynasty and IDP it makes no sense to cap the roster size at such a low level, at least in private leagues. Keeping it as it is will only cause people to move to other services. C'mon Yahoo, increase roster size and support those of us playing IDP dynasty!
