General feedback regarding scoring options and requests for new scoring options and categories. Some common category requests are:
- Goal Line Stops
- Penalty Yards
- Customizable Points Allowed Options
- Successful Onside Kicks
- Touchbacks for Kickers
- Dropped passes
- Forced Fumbles (D/STs)
- QB Hits (IDPs)

I like the idea of punters but not sure how to score them. I guess it be like this though. if they kicked it inside the twenty it's 1 point, 3 if inside the 10. And 1 point for every punt over 40 yards. 3 For every punt of 60 yards. -3 for every one returned for a TD.

I still like the idea of takeaways being included. But there is something to say about NHL advanced stats being highly subjective. **** even the 2nd assist has been under scrutiny.

There is no reason not to have this option. It makes sense and a league that doesn't want to use it doesn't have to. No field goal should be less than 3 points though.

The option should be there for league managers to decide if they want to include shootout goals or not. The NHL keeps the shootout stats and it should be made available if a league wants to include it. At this point in time it is probably too late as 'smart teams' draft players based on how the league is setup.
Next year would be great to have that option along with goalie goals and assists... mike smith already had a sick snipe this year and brodeur had a goal last year.... as well there are many goalie assists throughout the season. -

The shootout is what is ruining the game today. People think that winning or losing the shootout is winning or losing the game when in all actuality isnt true. The shootout has nothing to do with the game...five on five, or 4 on 4 overtime play. The shootout was put into existence for the fans to help get the fan base interested in hockey again after the lockout of 2004-05. Shootouts are also screwing up standings based on the fact that if one team has more shootout wins or losses is more important than a team with more regulation or actual overtime wins. There have been teams with more regulation wins not make the top eight because a team with more points through more shootout losses gets in with fewer regulation or actual overtime wins. NHL should do away with these stupid shootouts and just let the teams play an extra five minutes of overtime or something like that. If no one scores, then take the point and move on!

I've done a league with punters before. It was the stupidest thing I'd ever seen. It had all those ideas and there was absolutely no rhyme or reason to it.
If you want to try a league with punters, set one up on ESPN.

They should have their own categories in category leagues if you want, goalies have very few categories available to them, these two seem pretty obvious, goalie goals and goalie assists next year please

Goals & Assists should count and not just for Points Only league, any league which has Goals, Assists, Points or Even PIMs should include Goalies numbers for those stats/categories.

This is my favorite idea out of everything I've seen here. You could get points for long punts and punts inside 20 and lose points for blocked punts and touchbacks.

This would be a good option to have, though I am with the group that would not like any field goal to be worth less than 3.

Cool idea. Agree with everyone below... <30yds standard scoring but fractional points for >30yds.

I completely agree with this! Please vote for having hat trick points added as well because hat tricks are unique and should have some incentive when a player scores 3 goals in a game as it is an important moment for the player. Why shouldn't it be an important moment for fantasy owners as well?

I would like to add some additional incentive to owners that have a player who scores a hat trick. Currently, the scoring is just that 3 goals are 3 goals. Hat tricks are a unique thing that happens in hockey and it is special when it does happen. It would be nice to bring that into this game and be able to choose how many points it would be as a bonus for a player scoring a hat trick.

shootout goals are included as regular goals for the skater, and doesn't count against goaltender stats. sounds pretty fair to me.

As I am reading the opening post what you are saying is that if a DST gives up 500 yds they should be REWARDED with 10 points? I think not. Try again.

The stats on punters are easily available already. So, they should be easy enough to add.
I'd expect some value for length of punt plus some value for punts inside the 20 and some subtraction for blocked punts. -

no, and you're a moron. why not count the all-star game stats? that is a BIG part of the game and needs to be included, right? and the exhibition games, too. Those absolutely MUST be included.
