Let commissioners configure the seeding tiebreaker chain in division leagues
In leagues with divisions turned on, the seeding tiebreaker chain is hardcoded as overall record, then head to head, then division record, then total points. Commissioners cannot reorder it or remove a step, and the only tiebreaker dropdown in league settings does not affect it.
Request: let the commissioner order the tiebreaker chain, or at minimum let division record be removed from it while keeping divisions on.
Rationale: division record is a self-referential stat. A division's internal records are produced by its own teams beating each other, so a strong division suppresses its own numbers while a weak division inflates them. Using it to break ties between teams in different divisions rewards being surrounded by weaker opponents, which is the opposite of what a tiebreaker should do. The NFL applies division record only within a division and goes to common games and conference record across divisions; Yahoo applies it across divisions, where it does not measure anything meaningful.
It is also invisible. Division record is not shown in the standings, so managers cannot compute their own seeding position without deriving it by hand from the schedule. In a league where playoff seeding decides real money, a hidden tiebreaker nobody can see is a problem the commissioner has to solve manually every week.
The compounding issue is that Yahoo's own schedule generator for two divisions leaves each team without a game against two opponents, so head to head is frequently unavailable and ties fall straight to division record.
Many leagues want divisions purely for grouping and payouts, not for schedule and tiebreaker logic. Separating those, or letting the chain be configured, would let those leagues use the feature without inheriting logic that works against competitive fairness.
