Stop suppressing free speech by disabling comments!
By keeping us from responding to an article's author, you are not allowing us to call out the fake news and hate mongers. Stop disabling comments when they don't align with your communist's agenda! This is the USA and free speech must never be clamped down on! You are breaking so many laws by not allowing us to respond to the false news stories you post! Return this ability or shut down your "news" service completely! If you can't stand to be called out for lying, then just stop lying. That simple Yahoo....

I hesitate to call articles in your news section news. It often contains shards of actual news, surrounded by often inaccute,, biased commentary. In short ... it is a propaganda piece. Restore comments so that the "writers" writers can be corrected. If you find this too troubling ... report facts without commentarty / bias slants.

I find it amusing that Yahoo asks for feedback, and then purges it as well.

"Our goal is to create a safe and engaging place for users to connect over interests and passions. In order to improve our community experience, we are temporarily suspending article commenting." - By suspending commenting you've taken away a place to connect over interests and passions without any replacement as of this time. I know that a lot of comments contained repetitive drivel and garbage. I'd recommend a bot-check on most posts and perhaps a minimum complexity and uniqueness requirement and a CAPTCHA. But you've had a long time to sort this out, and you've really failed to find an effective substitute.

I think they should disable paid trolls before they bring back comments, especially those that work for governments.

I understand why Yahoo doesn't want comments. The truth must be stifled.

I really enjoyed and got so much more out of it when we could comment right after an article, I would think that the author would get more out of it too. But in Yahoo's recent let up it is better than nothing.

I moved to Fox news because they diplay user comments for free.

Yahoo = weak cowards that are easily hurt by words ...unless they are hurling them at others under the guise of "News Outlet" controlling the slanted media and spreading false propaganda just like Goebbels and the Nazi's...the only difference is white males are now the "Jews" You say not even close? Whos telling you the capitalism is bad ... whos telling who free thought is bad and you should only think the way the liberals think? Who's suppressing free speech? It is the Liberal Socialist party

I agree with the majority of sentiment on this comment page. Yahoo is suppressing the same free speech which they depend upon for their business. It's not against the law but it's not right either. With your freedom of speech suppressed, I can't get a complete read on the news. The yahoo articles are bent 95% extreme left, the comments section helps offset this and show a truer picture of the events and people making the news. It's disingenuous when yahoo says they are trying to make this a safe place. What they're trying to do is make it a sequel - Venezuela part 2!

I agree! Verizon/Yahoo! following the rest of the liberal BigTech censorship agenda. They realized that there was a lot of Conservative people coming on to Yahoo! to voice or opinions in a forum where we can speak our mind without the threat of violence. This, however, is not what the liberal idiots want, that is why we need to stand up and fight and voice our views. I for one will not let my freedoms be taken away from me or my family. My family and I have sacrificed 12 years of our lives to fight for our country's freedoms and I am not going to let them be taken away from me!

I agree I feel as if we should be able to write whatever we want and have freedom of speech online as well as in reality.

Why is it ok for the so-called opinion articles to be written, degrading the President of the United States and we are not allowed to comment to the leftist hateful agenda. Yahoo is assisting the liberal in the destruction of this country. Big tech should not be able to censor free speech, unless it meets their norms in the way they do. This country is in big trouble

Well I used to spend about two hours on the site and its about fifteen minutes now, so that should tell them how successful their idea to ban comments is.
Sean Costello commented
lmao j.k. I agree they should bring back comments, but you don't seem to realize how stupid you sound accusing them of breaking laws. It's their platform. they can allow commenting or not as they deem fit. That's how free speech works moron.

JK, do you have any idea how free speech works? Though a publicly traded company, Yahoo owes you exactly nothing in the area of free speech, man. Feel free to get your "news", which Yahoo is so light on anyway, elsewhere, but this right wing idea of I am owed something for which I am not even paying is patently absurd. Grow the freak up.
