Dump unnecessary views
Get rid of Deals, Travel, Purchases, Groceries, etc and definitely get rid of all the **** pop ups

I don't like Gmail for other reasons, but they have many ways to customize you inbox to turn on/off views, automatically create "important" emails based on senders email address. Yahoo's "views" waste critical landscape on the left side of the view.

When i read an email the Deals from this message banner annoys me to distractions.
I am not interested in this functionality and as a paid user I should be able to remove this from my mail.
Please provide an option to remove these banners when viewing my mail. -

Deliver travel related emails to my Inbox just like other emails. An airline sends me an email to check in for my flight, the Yahoo app gives me an alert, and then I can't find the email anywhere. It appears Yahoo has started putting them in the travel folder under views, but they are no longer clickable so I can't use them for check-in. This is a big problem for those who travel frequently.

I do not need or use Unread, Starred or Views. Please give us a way to Delete them.
And stop opening my Previous emails after Sending, Deleting, etc. -

I will never use Yahoo travel, I do not like to have all of these deals forced upon me. Yahoo has turned into one big nasty ad. It is like EVERYTHING has an ad with it shoved into it.

Some may find the VIEWS as a good idea... but we should:
(a) Be able to have these views listed BELOW OUR FOLDERS and
(b) Be able to delete email, pictures etc that we no longer want or need. This is an invasion of privacy in the event someone hacks our email and/or your servers. Thanks

I hate the views. At least make it hidden permanently instead of having to hide it each time. I will be looking for a new mail app.

Yes, delete this file, or at least make it where it stays closed (hide) when entering a new session each time. But, I would prefer this view file goes away permanently.

I agree with everyone. Those VIEW folders are stupid and apparently HIDE only means hide for the current session. So IF you're able to get your filters to work again, so messages are sorted into your folders... you have to go hunt to find the folders through the stupid VIEW folders.

Please provide an explanation as to why "your engineers" are not providing the option to at least hide the "views" folders it is an unnecessary part of the User Interface for those of us that do not want to use it. We should not have to scroll past it to get to our personal folders. At the very least, can we be allowed to rearrange the sidebar to make it more efficient for ourselves?

If you're going to force us to apply the new Yahoo Mail format, then atleast keep the "Smart Views" list the same!!! I used the "Shopping" smart view and now it's gone. Doesn't make any sense. ADD IT BACK!

Yes, this is so annoying! It is great to offer a tool that some may find beneficial. However many will not be interested in this tool (myself obviously included).
Why do they stand on top of the folders I have created that I use constantly?
Why not allow the user to make those folders disappear? It is simply BAD DESIGN.

Can't agree more. Views is major oversight in terms of design. On most standard screen resolutions such as 1920*1024, having Views auto-expanded means you don't see Folders unless you scroll down. Which renders Folders much less usefull, as you frequently miss whatever mail comes there.
The whole idea with folders for me is about setting up filters so I can quickly spot new e-mails from certain senders, which otherwise get lost in the inbox flow of junk mail, newsletters, all sorts of Amazon shipping and dispatch notifications, etc. With Views, however, I don't see folders and I can't see if there is any new e-mail.
Why can't we have some sort of folder rank, so you can rank not just views/folders, but even move some folders just below Inbox.

I agree, who uses that? I have to hide it EVERY TIME to access more customized folders. Either ask users whether they want it or not or hide it or not by default or place it at the bottom at the very least.

I hate the stupid "views" folder also. How can we get rid of it?
-
Carrie C commented
YES YES YES I hate this. I want to hide it permanently. I dislike not being able to control my own experience - and I hate that Yahoo is serving me up stuff they THINK I want or need and then not letting me say "NO"

I tried to vote for closing VIEWS above MY FOLDERS permanently or at least moving it to the bottom of MY FOLDERS but Yahoo, in it's infinite wisdom, has closed all those requests.

Or, at least, give us an option to turn these "features" off or remove them.
