Differentiation Between Unread and Read Emails
It is much harder to differentiate between unread and read email. The background color for read emails should be a higher contrast tot he unread ones.

I don't like the color change PLEASE bring back the old format. Don't show the message and the site to go to on the same page. NOT liking this at all

I would prefer to have a darker background for the unread emails and a lighter background for the read emails. Having a lighter background for the read emails makes them blend with the rest of the page sending me the message that no attention is needed while the darker background unread emails would stand out grabbing my attention. Currently it's the exact opposite sending the wrong message.

Still finding this new design unbearable. Please give option for the old design.

the old system was fine if you are making large changes, please give the option to maintain the old one.

I would like no differentiation between read and unread. I liked it the way it was before. It is very confusing that some emails are gray and others are white. Plus half of my emails for my work are showing up in my spam.

Bold for unread and non-bold for read works best.

Please don't fix something that wasn't broken. The new design is very unpleasant!

Please don't phase out the basic design option. I was glad to see I can still use basic, this new design is hard to tell read from unread. The basic design in this regard is perfect, no need to change it. I was considering getting a new email over this issue. Thank you

this is absolutely horrendous design that you guys have done.
Stop trying to make it look like everything else. Your visuals were fine before, now everything is harsh and difficult to see. No matter which them you use.

Please go back to the bold/not bold and keep it all one background color.

What's with putting a gray background behind our emails and making them harder to see, then making ads easier to see with the standard white background? Oh wait...I get it. Silly me.

I agree with Joseph Zimmerman on this one. The Inbox is a visual mess as I tend to have a mix of read and unread. I don't always immediately file or delete read emails.

Just as a suggestion, it would be nice if there was another way to differentiate the new e-mails received from the old ones because at least on the dark theme it is not the most noticeable in the world, the old look with the dot of a different color was enough obviously

I'm so confused on this one because some people are saying there's too little contrast, so they can't tell which ones are read... which I really don't understand. Maybe configure your monitor's gamma correctly or something? If anything, there's way too much contrast, which is just causing it to look like a visual mess (especially if you have a good mix of read/unread piled together), which is what some others are saying.

When arrowing through the inbox, it's very hard to see which is the currently selected item. The overlaid icons on the right (move, star, etc.) are subtle compared to the visually overwhelming white and gray marking read and unread messages. As a result, arrow-keying through the list is more trouble than it's worth.
Please make the list selection more noticeable (e.g., background is a color other than white or gray).

In dark mode it's very hard to differentiate between read and unread messages.

I'd like to see more contrast between read an unread emails. Maybe even a tab at the top that would filter unread emails. At least more contrast please. Thank you for your hard work lovely people at Yahoo. Keep up the good work =)

Whether it's a light or dark background, I agree that it is extremely difficult to differentiate between read and undread mail. I am not a fan of this new look at all. The original layout was just fine.

this is very important to be a more clearly and visible Differentiation Between Unread (new) and Read Emails
