Differentiation Between Unread and Read Emails
It is much harder to differentiate between unread and read email. The background color for read emails should be a higher contrast tot he unread ones.

This one is a bit tweaky for me too. When I use the white background, I can generally tell whether something is bold or not, but having the font even more bold would be preferable. However, when I use the black background (which I especially prefer if I am in a poorly lit area), I almost have to have an unread and read email right next to each other to tell which is which. On the dark screen, having the 'unread' email font even more bold that it currently is has moved from the preferable category into the necessary category.

The gray is unattractive and for me, doesn't provide enough contrast to read. Then having, the unread and everything on the sides white is too bright and ******* the eyes. I really dislike the new design from a color perspective.

I agree with some of the comments on read vs. unread emails. I think the gray vs white concept is okay, but for me, the gray is way to contrasty, making the inbox a visual mess. Bold vs not bold was easier on my eyes, but if the gray vs. white continues, please soften the gray several shades dimmer.

As someone with a vision disability, the greyed out "read" e-mails is seriously screwing with my eyes. Please go back to the bold/not bold and keep it all one background color!!!

Yes, we are working with our designers to make this a better experience and it will be easier to distinguish between Unread v. Read. Thank you!

Yes, please fix this. the "new" UI is completely unusable in it's current state since I can't tell which emails are read and which are not. (among numerous other issues)

Offer users the ability to change the background color for Read and Unread emails.

Thanks Uri, we have seen feedback on differentiating between read v. unread. We are tweaking this a bit so we hear you. We will continue to share this with the right team. Thank you for giving the new desktop experience a try!

I would like to see or have the option for reverse the read and unread colors. I keep looking at old emails thinking grey is new & white is old. It is not the color scheme I would have chosen or feel natural to me
