Scrolling through mail is jumpy as it skips emails
Scrolling through email is impossible. I use the scroll wheel on my mouse to look through email as I use a pc. I can start at the top and after one or two short scrolls down it jumps down so I miss several hours of emails For example, my newest email came at 6:12pm today..After I get down to 4:20pm it jumps to mail received at 1pm without my even scrolling and when I go back up I see I missed 32 emails received. No matter how many times I go back to the top and try again it always happens. It's frustrating as I can't read what's in my inbox if it's going to keep skipping emails. This never occurred in the old format. Something is wrong. Maybe you make this version for phone and not for pcs? Then you need to offer two separate versions, one an app and the other a web based service like old mail.

For the first time in 25 years, I'm considering leaving Yahoo Mail. Scrolling in my inbox completely lacks any fluidity and the ads are forcing themselves onto the screen. It is a terrible experience and needs to be redone. Joe

Scrolling my email up and down is an atrocious action. It is not smooth and completely glitches. While focused on one email as a reference point, so I know how far down I'm scrolling, the emails jump back, and it's NOT SMOOTH! It is a huge headache to even navigate. Why can we not go back to the legacy version, which didn't have this issue??? This version is literally the worst version of Yahoo mail.

"Email this list" doesn't work.
Also, when I scroll down in my Inbox, it spontaneously jumps to the top. And when I scroll up in my Inbox, it spontaneously jumps down. It is maddening. Why does this happen? Has anyone else seen this?
Thank you.

Why does the New Yahoo Mail randomly decide to scroll back to the newest message. I have to scroll back to where I left off and it is very wasteful in time and the colors don't help. Now the mailbox is becoming unmanageable because of this "glitch" of starting from the beginning without warning nor rhyme or reason. Please don't auto-scroll or jump back to the newest message for no reason.

Scrolling is seriously broken. The designers didn't think very clearly when they considered how to do snap back - or return to where you were. The screen randomly snaps back.
The simple version - if you read or do an action on an email that is off screen - down below the top of the list (say email 50 down from number 1), as you start to scroll, the system tries to snap back to that highlighted or selected email. It doesn't do this at some action or certain moment - it does this at random times.
That's why it "looks" like there are missing emails - the screen snaps down 50 emails. The only workaround is to use the up arrow key to move the highlighted or selected email to number 1, or one on the full screen of emails.
This happens when I try to delete emails when I check them. I'll go down my list of emails in the inbox, and see emails I don't need to read, I just want to delete them. I might go down 30 or 40 emails with 10 or so checked along the way. When I hit the trash button, the email just below the very last one I checked now becomes the highlighted or selected email.
Now when I scroll, the system tries to snap down to that email. It shouldn't do this. It only happens during scrolling. If I read the top email then come back to the list, the screen sits at the top, until I try to scroll down even one email - then it tries to snap to that selected email.
The system never did this before.

I concur with the previous commenters. For me, this is one of the most frustrating aspects of new mail.

The mail app should never lose the user's place or context during normal use. If a user is scrolling through their inbox and takes an action—like replying, forwarding, or reading an email—they should be returned to the exact same spot afterward, not sent back to the top of the inbox.
This issue appears in several places throughout the app, and in some cases, it's intermittent. Here are a few examples:
Example 1: Scrolling Bug
If you scroll down through a long list of emails (e.g., to read messages from last week) and then try to scroll back up slowly, the view suddenly jumps to the top of the inbox. This makes it nearly impossible to scroll up just a few rows at a time. This behavior happens inconsistently but frequently enough to be frustrating.Example 2: Action Context Loss
When replying to or forwarding an email (or even canceling a forward), the app should return the user to the exact same spot in the inbox, not to the top. Many users manage multiple emails in sequence, and losing their place makes this very inefficient.Example 3: Reading Sequential Emails
If you start reading older emails and use the down arrow to move through them one by one, clicking the "X" from inside the email should return to the same spot but it jumps you back to the top instead of where you left off. This breaks the flow and forces users to scroll again to find their place. These behaviors disrupt the user experience and should be addressed. Please test these scenarios across popular browsers (Safari, Chrome, Edge, Arc, etc.) to ensure consistent behavior.
Thanks for your attention to this—it would make a big difference in usability.

Scrolling is jumpy, unstable, keeps jumping back up.

When I scroll down the page to the beginning of the days emails, it keeps jumping back to the top of the page, then when I finally get there and read an email, when I delete it it jumps back to the top of the page again when I scroll back down the page to where I was, it keeps jumping back to the top or sometime farther down the page. It's a pain in the butt to have to fight just to read my emails in order.

For some reason, when I close my email, my cursor does not return to the one I just read. Instead, it goes to a random earlier email, some as old as the previous day or older. I thought I was being billed twice for something when the cursor jumped to the previous day's email.
