Median Scoring Improvement
Please make median scoring as a weekly option to replace head to head matchups within customizable schedules. Leagues with 14 week regular seasons are pretty common. Instead of having to decide which opponents you play twice, it would be awesome to have a few weeks of the year with ONLY median scoring, just to mix things up. It would create a different type of vibe for those weeks, and would also help balance out schedules and curb some of the "schedule luck" managers complain about.
For instance, let's say Weeks 1-3 are standard head to head, with no median scoring. Then Week 4, the last week without any byes, you're able to have a median-only scoring week, without head-to-head. Then you could have 1-2 more median only weeks spread out in the regular season, with traditional head-to-head rivalries at the end. All told, you've played everybody once, and the remaining 3-4 weeks where you would've played someone a second time, the best six teams that week got wins. Same # of total "games" at the end. W-L records would look like a normal head to head league, but schedule balance and schedule luck have improved.
This gives managers a taste of median scoring while still maintaining classic head-to-head for a majority of the season. The problem with median scoring now is that it's only available as an add-on to EVERY week. This could be seen as overkill by a lot of managers. Give us the option to add it in strategically/selectively while broadening the experience of the game.
