Contacts hard to find, edit, alter, and delete
Since the new changes it has become much more difficult to search and edit or delete a single contact. It would be very helpful if a dropdown menu were available to search by several choices such as ending email address or last name or company. partial name, with the ability to select the item and go to edit.

It would be great if you could check off all the lists you want them in when you type in a new contact instead of having to go back and edit every list

Just typed in a new contact. Yahoo does not recognize it in my database and I cannot add them to list when i go to "edit list" and type in their name for "add contact" which by the way is such a bad interface

Selecting contact is driving me crazy. The check box next to the email is small and hard to select.
Once a user check at least one email, other email should be able to selected click the email, not checkbox!!!

Allow us to add new contacts to an existing list. This feature DOES NOT WORK!

What have you done to the Contacts??? The following features need to return: Full page for viewing a contact, and how about an EDIT feature. You also have an ongoing problem with disappearing Contacts! Sometimes it's information in the Notes and sometimes the entire Contact has disappeared. What on earth are you doing???!!!

........ONLY if I get out of Firefox and use Chrome.
Then, I have to press save after EACH edit or they edits are lost. Didn't know that. So after adding ~50 contacts to a list.....I figured I better go back and check....and now I'm redoing them all.
WHY is Yahoo making us do this?
WHY can't we have the old contact list that actually WORKS?!?!?!
I know Yahoo isn't WalMart, but own a small business and I would never treat my customers like this. NEVER! -

Chuck, Agreed.
A business that ignores it's customers and users won't be a business for long. Ad revenue is based on users and clicks.
I have already gone to Outlook and had it replicate my yahoo account, both mail and calendar. I have Outlook update that replication every year or two. Both Outlook and Gmail have processes to copy your Yahoo mail over. It not a bad idea to use as a backup. I also export my contacts periodically just in case.

To M on YH -- perhaps all these issues reported but never corrected is WHY Yahoo is a "dying platform."

Thanks for the reply, Anonymous.
I have already heard back from Yahoo Cares. I repeated my direction to this User Voice to read the hundreds of pleas, requests and begging from their customers to fix their system. We'll see if the even bother.
I urge everyone to start posting their pleas on Twitter. Yahoo won't be able to hide behind this blog. Their miserable performance will be out there for all the world to see.
BTW, that's another one of those things Yahoo should fix. Why can't Yahoo allow one to change a user name??? There are so many loose ends on Yahoo one would almost think it must be a start up. Not a 20+ year old dying platform.

to Mon YH: THANK YOU. Great ideas. Have to familiarize self with Twitter. signed: Origin of this thread ('Anonymous'). BTW, would have put screen name but once again Yahoo just automatically
'assigned' me as 'Anonymous.' -

I received a brief survey from Yahoo (imagine that) asking if I would recommend them to a friend. I rated them extremely low and proceeded to tell them about their complete lack of user/customer support and the horrible Contacts, Mail and My Yahoo pages. Who knows if anyone will hear us.
As suggested below, I have also complained to yahoo on Twitter at https://twitter.com/YahooCare
Let's all step up the pressure. Post your displeasure on Twitter where millions of people may see it.

The function to edit contact lists is not working properly. When I delete a contact from a list, it still shows up if I try to send an email to the list. Also, when I try to add a contact to a list, many of my contacts won't show up in the search box even though they show up in a general search of contacts. You really need to fix this whole function. It worked great before the transition to new mail.

4 or 5 months, and still very little progress.
There are dozens of issues with the new Yahoo. We post them.......and very little happens.
Maybe, if we all speak loud enough, Yahoo will either fix them or give us the previous version. Plz visit here:

Can you change the Contacts section to the way it used to be? It's too hard to find people on my Contacts now.

To "Potomac Highlands...": It seems you are making an assumption-- incorrectly -- that our comments are going directly, or at least are being viewed by a Yahoo EMPLOYEE. That is not
correct. These 674 comments, or "posts" are from Yahoo USERS, NOT their employees. These are just Users - complaining - UNDERSTANDABLY - and sharing possibly solutions. YAHOO DOES NOT SEEM TO have an easy place that we can ASK them QUESTIONS, AND GET SOLUTIONS. IT IS NOT HERE, that is for sure. I am the original Person who posted this, -- as "Anonymous" and I am NOT a Yahoo Employee, just a user. -

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, take into consideration all of these comments and get the "Contacts" back to where we can use it again. How you update such an important feature as the "Contacts" and make it almost impossible to use?? We, the user, should be able to decide how we want to see our contacts ... whether it be by "LAST NAME" (my preference always!) or FIRST NAME, etc. Also, the contact lists are also not listed in alphabetical order and have to be filtered through taking so much extra time and effort. Just about everything that was changed was to the detriment of us, the USERS!!! Please consider changing back to much of how the contacts were handled in the older YahooMail and please, do it ASAP!!! If not, our business is going to have to find another email provider - Yes, this creates much work for me still, but in the long run, not as much as trying to work with your present contacts listing. Adding to these problems, many times, after adding a contact (and I know I added them) they seem to be no where to be found when I go to search for them - seems they just disappear, but may show up if I do an email for the group - very strange things happening. As a business, we have to make SURE that our emails are sent to all folks - how can we be sure with this type of goofs happening all the time???

It's b/c Yahoo doesn't care.
Only people who are older than google still have Yahoo addresses.
In maybe 2 years, Yahoo will no longer exist. I have my own company....if I provided this type of customer service, I would have been out of business in a week. It's infuriating.
