Unfortunately, you cannot revert back. We are only making the new one better. We know change is frustrating and hard but we really hope you'll give the new layout a fair chance.


WHAT'S NEW:
Calendar - We moved it from under "More" on the right hand side to it's own icon. Still on the right hand side, but it's now the first icon next to Starred and Contacts.

TIPS:
Disable Inbox Categories (All, Primary, etc) - You can go back to having just ONE Inbox. Go to Settings > Inbox Categories.
Keep Folders Expanded - First expand left hand column by hovering on Inbox edge until you see Double Arrows. Then a drop down will show up next to Folders.
Bulk Delete - Click on a checkbox from your Inbox and a new checkbox will appear at the top. From there you can Select All and Delete All.
Sender's Email Address - You don't have to open the message to see the sender's email address. Just hover over the sender's name from your Inbox.
Sort By Sender - This is still a sorting option, but you must disable Conversation view under your Settings. Then you will see "Sender name"
Disable AI Summaries - Go to Settings > AI features > Toggle Off

  1. More colorful themes

    The light/dark themes - the only ones available - are genuine eyesores and hard to look at since there is no color contrast, the light one is mostly white and hard to look at, the dark one is too black/on/black and hard to read anything, and both are frankly depressing to look at. Please consider adding colorful themes like the older version of the desktop client.

  3. GO BACK TO THE OLD YAHOO MAIL!!!

    AGAIN....WE HATE THIS NEW LOOK!!! NOBODY NOT ONE PERSON LIKES OR WANTS THIS NEW LOOK!!!.....GIVE THE ONES WHO WANT THE OLD LOOK THE OLD LOOK AND LET WHOEVER WANTS THE NEW ONE HAVE AT IT!!!.....IF NOT THEN AT LEAST GET RID OF THE STUPID CALENDER ON THE RDE SIDE OR MAKE IT SMALLER BECAUSE IT IS TAKING UP TOO MUCH SPACE AND LET US BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE COLOR OF F BACKGROUND/HEADER/BOARDER LIKE WE WAS ABLE TO BEFORE!!!

  4. Let us see more emails at a glance and more easily distinguish "read" from "unread".

    Your changes have made it much more difficult to view my mail, to see which messages are read or unread, and to determine which I might want to delete. I await your "Compact View" in hope that it may offer easier distinctions.

  7. Make the email viewing area larger

    I really hate the small email viewing pane on the new version of Yahoomail. Most of my screen is taken up with the Yahoo interface, which is NOT what I log in to view. Please enlarge the email viewing pane to make it more user friendly.

    Secondly, on the lst of emails, the "unsubbscribe" button pops up over the subject line of my emails which causes errors by clicking on Unsubscribe instead of opening an email as intended. Please move the Unsubscirbe button.

    I really loved the feature in the previous version that allowed me to hover over an email address, click on it, and see the previous emails sent and received from that person. It made it so much easier to keep track of conversations! wish you can add that back to the new version

    I don't appreciate, that I'm not being given a choice of being able to switch it back to the old way. We should be able to stay with what we have or switch if we desire not be forced too.

  11. You need to give an option to go back to the old style

    This so called new mail is trash. Having to enable javascript is bs. Some people know what a security event waiting to happen javascript is. Those who use it to program are the dregs of developers. Also the old look and feel of yahoo mail is much more pleasing to look at. This new mail is garbage and I am sick and tired of you thinking you know what your customers want. As a user of your email for **** near 30 years I am disappointed in this trash. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

    This Option should have been on the site before you ever moved us over to your New Yahoo Email which is not better and has lost things from the Classic Yahoo Emails that I have worked with for years and the reason I stuck with Yahoo. Please give us the Option to go smaller.   15. Go Back!! Go back to the old mail...at least it has some visual contrast.

    This new mail is not nearly as easy to use. It is much harder. Everything looks like everything else and it's hard to tell what I'm clicking on! The old one was good at a glance. The new one give me a **** headache having to guess what little icon is the one I want. Was it designed by blind people or just people who will never use it? It SUCKS!!
    That's my opinion.

  16. Bring back the old layout, please!

    This new layout as of October 2026 is so tedious. It genuinely hurts the eyes to use it, and actual features aren't functioning properly. For example, the meta information like the thumbnail isn't showing in hyperlinks inserted into emails. It's functioning worse than the old layout and the appearance is more than unflattering; it's genuinely ******* the eyes. I find myself only checking emails when I have to now, and using my non Yahoo accounts more than I ever have before. I can't be the only one sending criticism of the new layout. Sorry.

    Let me see my cc and bcc on the screen while I am writing an e-mail. This is frustrating for it to collapse while you are typing the e-mail. I don't want to keep clicking on it over and over to check the names.

    Also, how do I disable "Spaces" on my iphone?

    this is ********. tell the execs they are idiots. the investors should pull their money. hardest and dumbest layout and colors ever. the already viewed emails look like not viewed yet. at least give the options to customize the colors on much of the interface. oh boy, I can only imagine the comments.

This "upgrade" is just a disgrace and I am so angry that you don't even have the decency to let us revert to the old version of email and calendar whilst you "improve" things further. You are using us like test subjects and this a beta version that needs to be tested. This upgrade is not an upgrade and should not have been released. Absolutely DISGUSTED with Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
