Playoffs - Odd number of teams
This playoff format would allow for an odd number of teams in the playoffs. Currently, this is not an option for playoff formats.

7-Team playoffs are now available with Yahoo Fantasy Commissioner Plus: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/started-yahoo-fantasy-commissioner-sln36403.html

Having the option to have a 2 week championship matchup should be an option as well.

Please give us the option to settle ties by using bench player scores. I do not like the options of winning simply because someone has the better record. I also don't like how a player can advance in the playoffs off a tie just because they had a better head to head record. Please give us this option. All of the managers in all of my leagues prefer this.

Absolute no-brainer. This should have been done a long, long time ago.

It would be nice in a 2 division 4 team playoff format to have the ability to let the top 2 teams in each division face each other in the semi finals. Essentially it would be like having an NFC/AFC championship game with winners advancing to the finals (Super bowl)

I agree I would like to be able to have the top 2 seeds have byes.

In a very competitive 14 team league. Six team playoffs is a bit thin, but 8 teams is more than half of the league. We would like to have half the league in, with the best team getting a bye.

It should just be a setting. I shouldn't have to go back and change results just to get a simple playoff format to work.

In Yahoo! fantasy football, the commish can control this in custom leagues by altering previous results.

In a two division league, I suggest having it possible to have the top two (2) teams from each division making the playoffs plus two more wildcard teams (from any division) for a total of six (6) playoff teams.

100% behind this. I've got players wanting points to be a factor in making the last playoff spot. I don't really have a clean way to do this. Please fix.

Thread was started in 2013 and I don't see a Yahoo response.

I agree with Mike Riggall (Jan 7th 2015)... why is it not an option to have playoffs set up in a leage with 2 divisions that mimics the real NFL playoffs? Or at least allow the commissioner to override matchups during each week of the playoffs. Having used CBS, FoxSports, ESPN and now Yahoo, my league will go back to ESPN if the playoff seeds and matchups cannot be altered by the commissioner. I would love to hear from Yahoo why it's not an option.

Totally Agree. The commissioner needs to have the control over who makes the playoffs and how they are established. Yahoo, could allow the commissioner to go in and set the playoff teams himself. Lastly, I am adamantly opposed to having consolation playoff games; waste of time and who cares who the winner of the NIT is anyway!

Many leagues like to set their own playoffs such as top two points and top two records. Please allow the commish to set the playoffs manually.

The default Score & Settings for Public leagues has 4-team playoff, but Yahoo Help documents a 6-team playoff for Public leagues.
"Playoff schedule for Fantasy Football
In Head-to-Head Leagues, the league championship is decided during a multi-week playoff at the end of the season.Public and Pro Leagues all use a 6-team playoff format, where the games take place during Game Weeks 14, 15, and 16.
Custom/Private League commissioners can choose from several playoff formats, each with anywhere between 4-8 teams (playoff Game Weeks depend on the number of teams in the playoffs -- either in Game Weeks 14, 15, and 16, or just in weeks 15 and 16)."

Fully agree. For example, in our league we have 10 teams and 2 divisions. We've ali agreed that the 2 division winners should get the first round byes, but would like the next 4 'wild card' playoff spots to go to the non-division winners with the highest point totals, rather than won-loss records. Last year we had a team finish 2nd in overall points and 7th in the standings, missing the playoffs. In our league, this was a big deal and seemed grossly unfair, but as commissioner, I refused to go back and change game scores/records to manipulate the playoff teams.

I desperately need an option that I can have a championship playoff and a playoff for the cellar!! This seems like a simple request that is way past its time. Regular season would be for playoff seeding to see what you were playing for...a championship or attempting to get out of the dreaded "Sacko." PLEASE MAKE THIS AN OPTION BEFORE THIS SEASON!!!!

7 team playoffs have never been an option in the past and I don't see it as an option this year either.

Does anybody know if yahoo is changing the playoff format? Allowing you to choose how many teams make the playoff's We would like to go to 7 and would be a deal breaker if it does not get changed.

I would love to be able to ajust seeds and who makes the playoffs. In my league top 5 seeds make the playoffs. Of the remanding teams the one with the most points gets the 6th seed. It is almost impossible to make this work. Please help yahoo.
