Welcome to the new Yahoo Mail Desktop experience! This is a place for you to help shape the redesign. We review the most popular, feasible ideas from this forum to make positive changes to your Yahoo Mail.

Unfortunately, you cannot revert back. We are only making the new one better. We know change is frustrating and hard but we really hope you'll give the new layout a fair chance.



WHAT'S NEW:
Calendar - We moved it from under "More" on the right hand side to it's own icon. Still on the right hand side, but it's now the first icon next to Starred and Contacts.

TIPS:
Disable Inbox Categories (All, Primary, etc) - You can go back to having just ONE Inbox. Go to Settings > Inbox Categories.
Keep Folders Expanded - First expand left hand column by hovering on Inbox edge until you see Double Arrows. Then a drop down will show up next to Folders.
Bulk Delete - Click on a checkbox from your Inbox and a new checkbox will appear at the top. From there you can Select All and Delete All.
Sender's Email Address - You don't have to open the message to see the sender's email address. Just hover over the sender's name from your Inbox.
Sort By Sender - This is still a sorting option, but you must disable Conversation view under your Settings. Then you will see "Sender name"
Disable AI Summaries - Go to Settings > AI features > Toggle Off
Unread Count - You can hover over "Inbox" to see the Unread count or you can expand the left hand column and Unread will be in the column below Inbox with the unread count. No hovering.

  1. Why has the block sender function been removed from the spam folder in the horrible new yahoo mail?

    The block sender function is no longer available in the drop down of additional functions. The "not spam" icon is very confusing. It looks like batman's symbol with a line through it. Not descriptive at all.

  3. Bring back classic style email as an option. I strongly prefer it.

    I want the older style classic email back. I can't see why this is such a big inconvenience.
    I may get all my emails at Google in the future. This is very frustrating.

  4. HATE the new Yahoo

    Please give the option to get the old Yahoo back. Or at least make it to where I can use the tab button within my e-mail. I hate this **** so much

  5. Hate new format

    I cant delete old emails without them popping up in my feed even though I have theme marked as wanting them to be deleted. I want the old format to avoid having to delete without the new emails popping up regardless of whether they are old and i want the deleted. Extremely frustrated and time-consuming with new email format.

  7. Bring Back Classic View

    The new layout in 2026 sucks. There is no polite way to describe it. The entire Yahoo team made a major mistake. There is NOTHING good about the new layout. Not one single element is an improvement over the previous version. I have started using Thunderbird becasue this verison so UGLY and unuseful.

    its difficult to notice the undread emails. Could you please improve their visibility so that they are easier to identify?

  10. Have multiple emails open at once

    Please bring back the tabs used at the top of open emails. This way we can have multiple emails open at the same time and quickly switch from one to the other. We use this daily!

    Also looking forward to the compact view like we had before. The new view wastes so much space between emails in inbox. Waste of time going thru all of the emails trying to find the one you want.

  11. STOP CHANGING MY LAYOUT AND CLUTTERING MY PAID ACCOUNT

    I am writing to demand that you stop constantly altering my email layout and forcing useless features onto my account. This is a paid subscription, yet you continue to clutter my interface with junk and games that add zero value, create unnecessary distractions, and make the platform harder to use rather than easier.
    I am paying for a clean, fast, and functional email service—not a playground of forced updates. You should not be changing my layout or workspace without my explicit permission.
    Keep this junk away from my inbox permanently and give me a clean interface. If you continue to…

    And what’s worse, your "support" team doesn’t respond; you don’t let me see what other users think (though 8,918 comments strike me as a significantly negative indicator); and all I see are promises of features no one asked for, with no real sign that the fatal error you made is being fixed.
    The experience of using Yahoo Mail grows more bitter by the day—and in this context, the gamification you’ve forced into the app only adds to the frustration.

    Every day, I feel discouraged when I look at my email inbox. Every day, I ask myself why I pay for this.
    If your goal was to reduce usability and discourage users from wanting to use Yahoo Mail, you are certainly succeeding. :(

    I miss the built-in Yahoo Mail themes, such as the camping and seasonal backgrounds. Please bring them back to desktop Mail or add more color and background options to Appearance.
