Playoffs - Odd number of teams
This playoff format would allow for an odd number of teams in the playoffs. Currently, this is not an option for playoff formats.

7-Team playoffs are now available with Yahoo Fantasy Commissioner Plus: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/started-yahoo-fantasy-commissioner-sln36403.html

more customizable options like double or triple headers and playoff format

It is critical to have the ability to reward a team(s) with high overall points in head to head format when it comes to playoff qualification. We need the ability to determine the top X amount of head to head records make the playoffs with Y number of remaining teams to make the playoffs based on overall total points. This is must change or we will be forced to leave yahoo.

I agree and have been replying with this feedback for the last few years. I operate 4 leagues on Yahoo each year, and I typically use divisions. With fully customizable playoffs, I would make it so an equal number of teams from each division make the playoffs, and you play your divisional opponents in the playoffs. The winners of each division will then faceoff in the super bowl/championship. This is how the real NFL is set up and that is how I would like to run my fantasy leagues on Yahoo. Websites like ESPN and Myfantasyleague.com have these options, however, they are not as user friendly as Yahoo, so I don't leave Yahoo, I stay with Yahoo.

I have a 14 team league. I want all 14 teams involved in either playoffs or consolation, The 6 team playoff with 6 team consolation leaves 2 teams out for the final 3 weeks of the season. I see the issues with a 7 team bracket when it comes to determining last place, unless we turn on playoff reseeding, which is an option. I'd like a 6 team championship and an 8 team consolation. This allows me to crown a champion, and a last place team in week 16. Doesn't seem like too much to ask :)

Yes, I agree as well--there needs to be more options for playoffs. My primary issue is that in my 10 team league, even with divisions, the top 4 teams went to playoffs based on Yahoo ranking--not the top two of each division. What was the point of divisions if playoffs were still based on overall rank? Please update this.

total points is the way too go due to the matchup-luck factor on individual games. Yahoo has it right for once. No changes needed.

I agree, we had 10 teams and used the 2-week top 4 and second 4 championship and consolation play-off. But the bottom two wanted to play for 2more weeks so we did an off the system head to head 2 weeks for them. It would be nice to be able to customize something like that. Others have different ideas. good one!!

I also agree with having more options for playoff time. My league is 10 teams and I would like to have 5 teams make the playoffs starting week 13 with the 1 seed getting while the 2-5 teams play one week semi final rounds. For the championship rounds being 2 week matchup ups weeks 15 and 16 combined. Each league may have different ideas which is great and why not add a customize playoffs option so each league can set their preferred structure.
Thanks. -

Via the Commissioner (not the system) we allow the high seeds in each playoff round to choose their playoff opponent that week. In the past we often saw the #6 seed eliminating the #1 seed simply because of great Week 16 matchups for the #6 team, so we chose to reward the #1 with their choice of opponents so they can choose an opponent who has weaker matchups. This better rewards players who have had a great season.

I'm not adding anything new, but I just want to post to agree wholeheartedly with the idea. My league also has a playoff wrinkle that Yahoo cannot currently accommodate. We have a wildcard for the 6th playoff spot (12 team league). The team with the most points from place 6 - 12 after the regular season, gets the 6th spot, regardless of record. The 6th place team gets bumped to 7th. We had to do this manually this year, but it would be great for Yahoo to let us customize.

Our league is 14 guys and we need to determine a Sacko "winner". there is no reason Yahoo cannot add an 8 team single elimination bracket where the loser moves on, yet they refuse to add this when we have asked. have been doing manually for 3 years now in hockey, baseball and football

Would be great to have 5 teams as a play-off option. In a 10 team league, 6 teams making the playoffs is too many and 4 is too little. Ideally, seeds 4 vs 5 can play in Round 1 (week 14), with seeds 1-3 getting byes. Winner of play-in game vs the No. 1 seed in Round 2 (Week 15). Just like baseball.

I agree completely. We want to be able to have the highest seed select their opponent each week of the playoffs. (We have divisions and because of this for 3 years in a row the top seed has had to face the overall 2nd best team in the Semi's while the #2 seed has gotten a much weaker opponent.) This would give the best team the chance to select their opponent and have no excuse for losing after that.

Lets see you configure that database. Good Luck

Could not agree more - totally for sure! And why not allow for all teams to enter the playoff in one group. Match them up by record worst to first, #2 vs. 2nd last, etc. It's like two seasons of fun and it's totally appropriate as they earned their playoff spot during the regular season.

I agree with this fully. We have a 12 team league with 3 divisions where the division champs and a wildcard team play the playoffs in Weeks 15 and 16. Our team in dead last has to pay for trophy engraving(and shipping if necessary), so it would be nice to be able to have the bottom four teams play each other for the "privilege" of doing that. Currently my league has a consolation bracket, but it is for teams ranked 5-8. If that could be switched to 9-12, it would be perfect.

Great suggestion. I have no idea why Yahoo is too stupid to implement this on their own without it being suggested. It should be VERY OBVIOUS. And seriously, how hard would it really be to add this?

If your league uses head-to-head as a tie-breaker it is possible to adjust scoring to keep you in the playoffs ... but I agree it should be made an easy option.

Yes! I have a 10 team league with 4 teams making the playoffs, 4 teams getting placed in a pointless consolation bracket, and the last two teams disappearing.
In addition to the championship playoff we wanted to do a "Toilet Bowl" type competition between the 2 last place teams to determine the ultimate loser of our league. Looks like I'll have to do this manually since the last two teams just disappear after the regular season.
Commissioner MUST have the ability to set up their respective league's playoffs how they see fit. Please work on this.
