New Yahoo Mail

Welcome to the new Yahoo Mail Desktop experience! This is a place for you to help shape the redesign. We review the most popular, feasible ideas from this forum to make positive changes to your Yahoo Mail.

COME HERE FOR THE LATEST UPDATES.

*Those asking about going back to the old version. Unfortunately, if you do not see the "Go Back" button you cannot go back. We really hope you'll try the new experience! Thanks!

TIPS:
Disable Inbox Categories (All, Primary, etc) - You can go back to having just ONE Inbox. Go to Settings > Inbox Categories.
Keep Folders Expanded - First expand left hand column by hovering on Inbox edge until you see Double Arrows. Then a drop down will show up next to Folders.
Bulk Delete - Click on a checkbox from your Inbox and a new checkbox will appear at the top. From there you can Select All and Delete All.
Sender's Email Address - You don't have to open the message to see the sender's email address. Just hover over the sender's name from your Inbox.
Sort By Sender - This is still a sorting option, but you must disable Conversation view under your Settings. Then you will see "Sender name"
Disable AI Summaries - Go to Settings > AI features > Toggle Off

COMING SOON!
Compact View - Small, Medium and Large views are coming soon!

**Please do NOT post about Account, Password, Login issues here. It will be deleted. Please go to help.yahoo.com.

Thank you! 💜

  1. Please bring back the option to switch back to old version

Y'all. I have been a loyal yahoo mail user. Next year will mark THIRTY!! YES THIRTY! years with my original yahoo! email account I opened as a teen. I am now middle aged and my eyes are old and do not like the new appearance in either light or dark mode. I always appreciated y'all always gave the option to switch back to the old appearance. Just asking to have the option back. THIRTY YEARS, guys. THIRTY! Please don't make me finally cave to Google.

Include the 'go back' button so i can go back to the old version. The old version was visually a lot calmer to read, and a lot less 'shouty.'

I suspect fraud as usual by PS Durham uni and Darfield RD coven as in Barnsley. I sent update complaint in as asked for by some place called Finance ombudsman e mail now, about them wanting letter from bank of final complaint reply. I sent 2 -3 emails other day from here or outlook ta66661@outlook.com about update complaint attachment letter as related to Halifax bank complaint, the issue was they said wrong address on phone and line broke. 1. Where can I see what happened with my ideas?
    2. a) Return options to manipulate inline pics in the browser (Chrome): increase/decrease the size or remove the image.
    3. b) Add the first two to your app's "..." drop-down menu. Before you removed them from the browser (see 8.a) above), I could at least add a pic from the mobile phone in the app, then exit the draft and open it in the browser to change the pic's size. Now it is gone there.

    1. Add an intuitive, VISIBLE option to make the right panel, WHICH IS TAKING UP TO 1/4 OF THE PAGE WIDTH and contains infrequently used stuff (from STAR TO MORE), disappear on demand. So far, I do not see such an option.

  11. 5. Return simple, no-frill Notepad-style layout of the Yahoo Mail without too much space/visible borders between line of emails and folder

    1. Return the simple, no-frill Notepad-style layout of Yahoo Mail without too much empty space or even Excel-style visible borders between the lines of emails and folders. I would prefer to see more folders and more emails on a single page for review/selection without needlessly straining my hands paging up and down. This isn't a decorative, first-impression-matters resume page that is recommended to have lots of white space; it's supposed to be a functional page for work! Save our time and hands by making it the default, and let users change the spacing between lines, font size, and whether to insert…

  12. make opt-out options for all the 'new features' that we don't like

How do I turn off the "Unsubscribe" bubble that pops up over the email subject line? I've already accidentally unsubscribed twice by mousing over the Subject line to open and read the email and the Unsubscribe popped up and took the mouse click. I prefer to unsubscribe from the link in the email. You probably think you're doing us a favor with that feature, but you never asked or showed how to disable it. I'm sure that on the daily emails I get, the Unsubscribe button will pop up up every day. That's BAD! It's like everything else in the…

    1. Return the SMART feature of remembering (KEEP SELECTED) the already selected (via checkmarks to the left of the "from" column) emails if a user ACCIDENTALLY or INTENTIONALLY clicks on any email to read/confirm their choice. Imagine YOU have selected hundreds of emails to delete or to move into a folder, but then decided to read one of them or a not-yet-included email to make sure, or just by a slip of your finger. But when you exit this email, ALL YOUR CHECKMARKS THAT YOU SPENT TIME SELECTING ARE GONE! (You have a weird tendency of removing the useful features. KEEP…

    1. Return checkbox column to the right of the "from" column to bring back our ability to select ALL emails from a sender to perform batch operations: review, delete the dups or all, etc. (You have a weird and persistent tendency of removing useful features.)

  16. MAKE IT AN OPTION TO GO BACK TO CLASSIC MAIL

I hate the new layout and hate is a very strong word to use but valid in this case. Allow users to have the option. Thinking of creating a gmail account and quitting yahoo after having my yahoo account for 20+years.

  19. Keep recipients visible when replying to email

Please provide an option to keep the recipient information visible when replying to an email. Currently, when I reply to a message, I can initially see who the reply is being sent to, including Cc and Bcc recipients, but once I begin writing the reply, Yahoo Mail collapses or hides that information. I then have to click the recipient area again to verify who will receive my reply. I would prefer an option to keep all recipients visible while composing a reply so I can continuously confirm exactly who will receive the message.

  20. Keep recipients visible

Please provide an option to keep the To, Cc, and Bcc recipient fields visible while composing an email. Currently, after I enter the recipients and begin writing the message, Yahoo Mail collapses or hides the recipient information. I then have to click the recipient area again to verify who will receive the email. I prefer to keep all recipients visible while I am writing so I can continuously confirm that the email is being sent to the correct people. Please allow users to choose whether recipient fields remain visible or automatically collapse.
