Differentiation Between Unread and Read Emails
It is much harder to differentiate between unread and read email. The background color for read emails should be a higher contrast tot he unread ones.

Go back to the way read and unread emails were displayed in the inbox. Now they both have the same color, and it's hard to tell the difference. This just changed in the last few days, and it was a terrible choice.

In the old version of Yahoo e-mail, you accustomed us to the fact that unread messages have bold titles, and read messages have normal font titles. This is natural, since unread messages require greater attention, due to the fact that unknown information is not yet assimilated. Moreover, it is a matter of perception, in the idea that an unpressed button is more prominent (more visible) than a pressed one, which makes the bold font of unread messages welcome.
The confusing problem, however, is that in the new version you have reversed the system, with read messages being marked with a gray background, and unread ones with a white background. This, according to the reasoning above, is very confusing. Please analyze the situation, consulting with visual communication specialists, to make things as pleasant as possible, which is essential for a tool used daily by millions of people. A reasonable option could be to offer us the possibility to customize the appearance, not only by changing the theme or to dark mode, but also regarding the background of the message titles. With respect, Radu Ilea -

Why did you change the inbox?
I want to still be able to tell which ones I've read and which ones I haven't.
Now they ALL turn the same **** color, even the ones I've read.
I still want them in my inbox like they were before and be able to tell which ones I've already read.
But everything is all screwed up and I absolutely hate it every time you all changes something stupid. -

They look like they are emails that are unread and not read. Please bring back the old view. This new view is unworkable.

Please fix this. Both read and unread emails remain highlighted. This makes it very difficult to discern between the two. The unread emails are bolded, but the difference is very difficult to notice, and is therefore pretty useless.
Thanks,

When we have all our emails read, the background color on the email turned to light grey. Say I have 10 read emails on top half of the screen, i clicked on the first one and I can read that email in the lower half of screen. Then I start moving down to 2,3,4th email one by one and keeps reading them. But at one point I forgot that what email I am on because all the emails in the list has the same background color, and the email that I clicked on, does not show any different background color. Therefore it gets very confusing at times that what email I am actually reading.

When using the dark mode, read emails used to appear in a dark gray/black color. Unread used to appear in a lighter gray color in inbox. It made it very clear when looking at both read and unread what emails you still had not opened. The only way to make it clear now is by only looking at unread or only looking at read which is not helpful when you need both at once.

Hate it, can you put a switch to turn it off

There was a feature where once an email was read, the email would turn from grey to black. Please return that feature. A purple dot on the left disappearing when an email is read is not enough to know that the message has been read. It's not easy to notice the purple dot especially when dark mode is chosen for the the entire email page. And I prefer dark mode. Thanks.

It is difficult to distinguish the read and unread messages.

Make it easy to tell read from unread emails. Mildly bold isn't very useful.

A lighter grey would be much better

I really dislike that read messages are in grey, it's horrible UI. And make the read emails stand out more than the unread, so reverse of what I would expect.

I don't like the grey background of the readed messeges. I'd liked the bolded/non bolded version of not read/read messsages.

In the new UI (light or dark) the unread emails are not obvious enough or distinguishable enough from read emails, this is enough of a dealbreaker that I'll switch back to old view until it's fixed.

1. The "more menu" containing the settings is at the bottom of the folder list - if you have a lot of folders then it is not shown until you scroll down, which could be a long way! This should be fixed.
2. Unread messages are bold and a white background. Read messages are not bold and a grey background. Using a different background competes with the bold and is a distraction, and is unnecessary!

You changed it making all of the messages the same color. It was better before when the read messages were a different shade and the unread were easier to find. Now when I log iin it looks like I've read all the message already.

Is there a way to configure a user-inbox, so that the entire line of an email that has been read does not get shaded? Lines of emails that have been read were not fully shaded in the past.

In the list of items in the inbox, please remove the automatic shading for read items: this actually makes it harder to see the unread items (which have previously stood out anyway as they are in bold). It's contrary to best practice in terms of accessibility and has significantly worsened my user experience. If you do not wish to remove the shading entirely, please provide a function in the settings allowing using to choose whether to have it on or off. Thanks

Make it where the read messages are greyed out like it used to
