Differentiation Between Unread and Read Emails
It is much harder to differentiate between unread and read email. The background color for read emails should be a higher contrast tot he unread ones.

The light theme is really bad in terms of contrast ratio. When composing or replying to an email, it is hard to see where the division horizontal rules are. This makes it very difficult to distinguish the recipient field from the subject field from the message text.

Layout of new email is HORRIBLE. There's almost nothing to differentiate one email from another, making it nearly impossible to quickly review new emails without opening every single one. Previous (classic) version was much easier to see and use. Please, do something to improve the look of this "new" version of Yahoo email. Please.

The grey background, after you read an email, sucks. Please give an option to keep this white.

the gray highlighted background for priority emails are hard to read. Please allow an option for white background for priority emails.

Please remove the gray lines on my emails in the inbox. I would prefer all my messages to be white instead of gray, wtih the ads being white. It makes me feel like all my emails are highlighted.

I can't barely distinguish new emails coming in (unread) vs emails I already read from the list.
Could you please increase the text boldness to 650-700 font weight at least? Maybe, set the background-color to something like: #8d6bb433? to make it slightly pop-up more?Thank you!

Bold more thick the newest email

The shaded gray makes it harder to see new mail, or mail you choose to keep unread. It was better when it was just bold and all the background was the same. I also don't like that you have to hunt for the spam folder. I often get mail accidentally sent to spam, so I check it periodically, and its harder to do with the new set up

My inbox does not differentiate the look of a message if it's been checked or not. I have no idea what has been checked, and what hasn't. Make it a different color, add a marker, or something.

Several changes or the option to customize would make this less cluttered with a cleaner look (more productive):
* provide the option to eliminate colored dots before each email
* option to expand message header column to show entire subject line
* option to eliminate message preview in inbox - I turned this off but it still shows
* option to space messages more closely together - I can decrease zoom to get more on the screen, but better if the interface handled it
* option to turn off "mail-to" request that shows at the top of page every time I open email -

Thanks for taking my feedback.
I would like for the message that I am reading to be somewhat highlighted so that I know which message I am on.
The shades need to change one you are reading a message, read a message and have not read a message.
Thanks again so much. -

It is very difficult to differentiate "Read" and "Unread" messages with this update. Could the "Unread" messages use either a different font or a different color? The current design does not "bold" the "unread" messages enough in dark mode.

Using the default theme (haven't tried others), when I click on a message in the list, a preview is shown and the row turns grey showing it's read. A small purple indicator at the far left od the row indicates the active row. The challenge is that when deleting the message using the buttons on the right end of the row, it's not easy to tell if you are deleting the currently selected message. The entire row should have some sort of highlight, like an outline or different background colour, or the currently selected indicator should be at both ends of the row. My preference would be a different coloured box around the row.

I don't mind the new look. But not sure why the read emails are a dark grey, they look like to me that I have not read them, and I really find it confusing. Is there a way to make unread bold and read ones not bolded. Was easier on the eyes in the old version. Will keep trying this but I am really struggling with this simple concept

Not sure where to put this suggestion. I really don't enjoy having the emails that have been read presented with a darker background. (I'm using light mode.) Bold / not bold is plenty sufficient for my needs. Please provide a way to select how you want emails to appear in the inbox once they have been read.

Dear Yahoo Mail Support Team,
I appreciate your continued efforts to improve the Yahoo Mail experience. However, I find the recent upgrade to the new email interface a bit confusing—particularly the way read and unread emails are displayed. The current system, where unread emails stay white and read emails turn gray, makes it harder for me to manage my inbox efficiently compared to the previous, more classical design.
I kindly request that you consider offering users the ability to switch between the new and classic versions, so each person can choose what works best for them. Providing this option would go a long way in supporting users with different preferences and habits.
Thank you for your attention and for all the services you provide.
Best regards,

Can I revert back to the old, normal view of the list of Read & Unread messages? The new version highlights read messages with a dark highlighter. Unread msgs look like normal msgs. It's confusing and different from all other email apps and normal html and windows control methods.
There's no highlighter or outline in the msg list to let me know which message is currently chosen. I have to scroll all the way back to the top of the message text to see the subject line and then look through the msg list for the msg that has the same subject. But wait, I have several msgs with the same subject text. I guess I'll have to compare time stamps?
Why not just do what it used to do? The unread msgs are bold. The read msgs are un-bolded. And the currently selected msg has a highlight or outline around it. That's a neat idea. Let's do that.

I don't like darkening the messages that are read. This makes it next to impossible to understand which message you're looking at right now. I know there's a subtle blue bar to the right of the message in the Inbox, but making read messages darker causes havoc.

The gray highlighting on almost every email is really not good. I can't see which email I'm reading and the last version of my inbox was better. The right side panel is also useless.

On yahoo mail:
- It is difficult to distinguish between read and unread message.
- The top bar had delete, move, spam options but now I have to delete each email individually.
- Sidebar is fine but previous version showed more information. I do not like the dropdown method.
