Schedule/Scoring Formats - 'Doubleheaders vs league score median'.

Each week, the median fantasy points of all teams in the league is calculated by taking the middle number in a sorted list of scores of each team. Each team would get a win if they beat the league median and a loss if they lose to it.

    Any chance of having a "victory points" type setting for football this year? Last season we used the typical head to head W/L and then also used each team's score vs the rest of the league: the top 6 got a W, the bottom 6 got a L. So you could go 2-0, 1-1 or 0-2 for a given week. It was great but had to be scored offline as there's no settings for this on Yahoo. Other sites offer this but we've been on Yahoo forever and want to stay, hoping it'll be an option sometime in the future!

    Another way to reduce "luck" is to play double matchups each week. Some other platforms allow for this and its great...I wish yahoo would add. It increases the action each week, creates more mobility in the standings and also allows for odd numbered leagues (we had a guy drop out last minute). I'd highly recommend.

    Please allow us to set the Fantasy Football format to the “2-Win/Week” system. In this system each week everyone will still face a team head to head but will also get a win/loss for finishing top 1/2 of league in points. I have manually been doing this system for years and statistically speaking it removes a lot of the luck factor while rewarding those who score a lot but just have unlucky schedule. I have had years where a top 2 team in points missing the playoffs, and that makes no sense!

    Add a 2 win system where you get a win vs opponent and another for finishing in the top half of league

    At least offer it and give us the option. Some leagues will try it and love it and other leagues will try it and hate it, but give us the option to try it.

    Yes please! I've been saying yahoo needs to have double header leagues for years! I'm one of those teams who misses playoffs yet has one of the most points in the league!

    Another person mentioned this idea, and I voted for it. But it needs to be mentioned again! We need double header leagues! For those who are unfamiliar, a double header league means you play 2 head to head matchups each week.

    Playing 2 teams each week provides many advantages. The first being that it provides a better balance between head to head and overall points. It's a ****** feeling when you have the 2nd highest score in the league, only to lose to the highest scoring team. With double-headers, at least you would pick up 1 win in this situation, and the week isn't a total loss. For the past 3 years in our league the team with either the most or 2nd most points has missed out on the playoffs. I know people will say we could just switch to overall points rather than head to head, but it's not as fun just counting points compared to playing head to head against your buddy. Instead of playing 13 games, each team is now playing 26 games, which will help the stronger teams get in the playoffs and weed out the lucky ones who skate by each week.

    2nd, it provides you with more players to watch each week! You will now be concerned with 3 teams rather than just 2, increasing the likelihood you have a reason to watch the games on Thursday or Monday nights.

    Please give us double-header leagues!!!

    Its a nice hybrid of head to head and pure points.
    Pure points has the disadvantage of a single player score in one week impacting the entire season.
    Head to head has the problem of bad luck facing the wrong opponent on a given week or a schedule where some teams get to play weak teams twice, others play the best teams twice.

    The mix is alot like daily. Top 5 teams get a win, bottom 5 get a loss (for a 10 team league). Its more talent based bc if your team is in the top half they get a win.
    Please try it. I am sure it will become the most popular version of fantasy football.

    Yes, a double header one head to head and the other vs the league average. This helps even out those with the highest points who are just unlucky.

    The schedule format should be treated like "two games a week." You play your head-to-head matchup, but the top half of the league in scoring also gets a win each week (and the bottom half gets a loss). So, every week you will go 2-0, 1-1 or 0-2. For example, if it's a 12-team league, the six highest-scoring teams each week would get a win regardless of whether they won their head-to-head matchup. This allows you to keep the fun of head-to-head play but removes some of the bad luck you might encounter when you put up a good score only to face an opponent who has Lamar Jackson the week he accounts for six touchdowns

    I want this as a feature so bad! Playing 2 teams a week for a total of 26 games would make things so much better!!!

    This adds more match ups to enjoy and helps smooth out the out-of-the-blue high scores or low scores that can affect records.

    Add an option to do a doubleheader scoring system where every week each team plays a head to head match up and a match up vs the field (top half scoring each week get a W and bottom half get an L). So every week teams either go 2-0, 1-1, or 0-2. It would make things way less random and more deserving teams would make the playoffs. It would be a simple addition. Please do this!

    Just run a "total points" league.
    It does a better job of what you are wanting than this idea does.
