Playoffs - Odd number of teams
This playoff format would allow for an odd number of teams in the playoffs. Currently, this is not an option for playoff formats.

7-Team playoffs are now available with Yahoo Fantasy Commissioner Plus: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/started-yahoo-fantasy-commissioner-sln36403.html

I love that Yahoo keeps league records, and I like being able to look back at past win loss records of each team. This year, we decided to make our 10 team league's playoff different than years past. Rather than a 6 team playoff of top 6 records, we have the top 5 records this year and the 6th to a wildcard of most points scored off the bottom 5 records in league. Only problem, unless we luck out, i will have to adjust in season W-L records in order to get the 6th wildcard team in the playoff. I don't like that W-L records and/or points scored will be altered. Yahoo, allow customized playoffs. I'll pay $$ for the option, but if it isn't available I might have to consider moving our league.

My league just expanded to 18 teams and is probably going to expand to 20 teams. Unfortunately I think we will have to leave the Yahoo platform because Yahoo simply doesn't accommodate ideal settings for large leagues.
Having a large league, we would like to set up 2 separate divisions (eg. 10 and 10) In order to preserve player depth, we would like to have two separate drafts for each division, with separate player pools. Each division would be under the umbrella of the same league, with the winners facing off in the finals.
Currently none of the major platforms (Yahoo, ESPN, Sportsline, NFL.com) support this type of league. The only platform that supports a similar format is http://www.myfantasyleague.com.
By implementing this option, Yahoo could utilize functions already in place, and separate itself from the pack with regard to Larger Fantasy Leagues.
We really love Yahoo and do not want to leave. Please consider trying to implement these features for 2016!!

Yes! Please! Isn't this the point of divisions anyway? I would love to have this as an option for league settings.

So, let's say your league has six teams whose scores for a week are: 170, 150, 100, 90, 80, and 70. That produces a league average of 110.
So, you'd have the top two teams receive an extra win and the other four teams receive an extra loss.
I don't like that idea. I want the same number of wins as losses in the league standings. Two additional losses would look stupid. -

The drop down box only offers 6 options based on whether you want to have 4, 6 or 8 teams make the playoffs, while other sites allow you to choose exactly how you want your playoff match-ups to be set.
At the very least there should be a third option offered for the 6 and 8 team setup options to choose a "Week 14, 15 and 16+17 (6/8 teams).

Agree 100% I have to use footballguys.com to auto make this schedule then transfer to yahoo...VERY time consuming. Also...change the **** color settings. White = brutal. At least give us an option.

I am in a league where we have 2 divisions. We want to have the division champs to meet in the Super Bowl, just like in real football. Please step up your game Yahoo and allow for customizable playoff formats. If we were allowed to re-seed the teams this would make this so much easier. It would be nice to get that in before the playoffs actually start.
Thanks.

This should be amended to custom divisions. The process for custom schedules would be a bit much.

12-team, 3 division (4 teams each) 14-week schedule where division games are played weeks 1-3 and 12-14 and play each team outside your division once during weeks 4-11. That way a team plays each time in its own division twice and every other team once. I have to manually set this up, would be nice to have it done automatically as an option.

Just migrated from espn and this is preventing how we wanted to seed our playoffs

The only way to do this now is to set up two independent leagues and then do an offline championship. All the while you have no idea what is going on in the other league. It seems simple to me to consolidate it down.

Simple just give commissioners the ability to adjust playoff teams and seeding. Our league would like to reward teams with the most wins AND the teams with the most points playoff spots and right now I don't see a way to accomplish that under the current settings.

In large leagues (16 and up) make the option for 2 player universes so that each division of 8 has a player universe to select from. The idea being that the divisions essentially operate independent of one another (while being in the same league so you can see how the competition is doing) until the championship when the champion of each division play each other. Only then would it be possible to have the same player go against themselves (ie Aaron Rogers v Aaron Rogers).

Definitely feel this is a necessary component to add.

Leagues that have Divisions should be able to set the playoffs to be winner of Division 1 vs. winner of Division 2. That's how a playoff actually works - not overall rankings.
Ya know how the NFC teams play each other until there is an NFC champ and then they play the AFC champ in the Superbowl? Looking to do that for my league. Please?

This idea would be a bit of an improvement, but not much.
The real solution would be to have each team play each team each week.
And that has to be easier for the code-writers because you'd no longer need to create or maintain a schedule for the league.
And it would require less computer storage space.
