Welcome to the new Yahoo Mail Desktop experience! This is a place for you to help shape the redesign. We review the most popular, feasible ideas from this forum to make positive changes to your Yahoo Mail.

Unfortunately, you cannot revert back. We are only making the new one better. We know change is frustrating and hard but we really hope you'll give the new layout a fair chance.


WHAT'S NEW:
Calendar - We moved it from under "More" on the right hand side to it's own icon. Still on the right hand side, but it's now the first icon next to Starred and Contacts.

TIPS:
Disable Inbox Categories (All, Primary, etc) - You can go back to having just ONE Inbox. Go to Settings > Inbox Categories.
Keep Folders Expanded - First expand left hand column by hovering on Inbox edge until you see Double Arrows. Then a drop down will show up next to Folders.
Bulk Delete - Click on a checkbox from your Inbox and a new checkbox will appear at the top. From there you can Select All and Delete All.
Sender's Email Address - You don't have to open the message to see the sender's email address. Just hover over the sender's name from your Inbox.
Sort By Sender - This is still a sorting option, but you must disable Conversation view under your Settings. Then you will see "Sender name"
Disable AI Summaries - Go to Settings > AI features > Toggle Off
Unread Count - You can hover over "Inbox" to see the Unread count or you can expand the left hand column and Unread will be in the column below Inbox with the unread count. No hovering.

  2. NO TRASH DELETION AFTER 7 DAYS

    I WAS NOT NOTIFIED THAT MY TRASH WOULD AUTO DELETE AFTER 7 DAYS. THAT HAS NEVER BEEN A THING SINCE I FIRST SIGNED UP. NOW I'M LOOKING FOR SOMETHING I DELETED ON THE 10TH AND AM UNABLE TO FIND IT. THIS IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING.

  3. Allow the user to have the option to select which interface they want to use

    I have dyslexia and cannot use the new interface Yahoo Mail has impelemneted. I have been using Yahoo Mail for at least 20 years now and I can't use the new interface because of my dislyexia. Yahoo should allow its customers/users the option to use whichever interface they want. Please let me use the old version

  5. Restore prior capability within "Advanced search filters"

    Per https://help.yahoo.com/kb/new-yahoo-mail/overview-yahoo-mail-sln36709.html and my own testing, your New Email Advanced search filter no longer includes a "key word" search box, only To/From/Subject. Please restore the ability to find an email based solely on key word(s) within the body of the message. Omitting such a search method severely limits the ability to find Who-sent-that email content.

  6. Allow me to block sender's emails so I don't keep getting these **** scam emails

    I want to be ale to block emails in my spam folder so I don't keep receiving these scam emails

  7. GIVE PEOPLE AN OPTION!

    THIS IS HORRENDOUS! I have THREE inboxes.. now i can no longer see them all listed on the left and can no longer see EACH unread messages!!! I DO NOT want to have to do multiple steps just to see them! Why do you FORCE us to choose between a blindingly white or dark background? THANK you Yahoo - the push I needed to switch ALL my email to Google.

  8. You should be able to delete an individual email without having to check the box

    YOU serve your customers and users! That is YOUR JOB!! YOu can't take away options we used to have and simply say, "You have NO choice anymore! This is the way it is now, so get used to it!" Whatever happened to OPTIONS??!! How about going to a restaurant and being FORCED to order something YOU DON'T LIKE? THAT is what you're doing!!

  11. Pane size

    Make all panes to include file, email list and ad panes sizable. Color scheme is not easy to read. Also, need more options to modify the screen views, to include size, colors, etc. Also, improve the sort features to include file size, etc.

  12. Stop making changes on my email

    It is beyond frustrating when you use your email all day every day, you should give people the option to not want to upgrade. Thia is my email account, and I should be able to have it set up the way I want.

  13. Bring back the ability to star messages in the email list without having to open the message

    The old mail had the ability to star a message that was in the email list without having to open the message. The new email requires the user to open the message to apply the star. In the morning I go through my inbox and star messages that need priority attention and now I can't do that without also opening the message.

    Terrible new inbox! I can see less mails and lots of functions missing!!! Terrible idea! Im thinking of switching my account after more than 25 years!!!

    Si posso avere altri temi o anche altri sfondi colorati anche omogeni.
    Comunque mi trovavo meglio prima, perché insistete con questa nuova versione?

  16. Actually delete stuff that has been deleted

    I cannot tell you how many times I have deleted email addresses that I do not want but continue to appear when I begin to type an address. Why are they still there?? Why doesn't your "delete" actually delete. My idea? Fix this.

    How am I supposed to block all those numerous spam emails I receive daily? Instead of changing the wotking interface into something stupid that doesn't properly work, you could have strengthened your ability/functionality in protecting my mailbox from flooding spam.

  18. Get rid of the stupid ads that flash in your face while attempting to read emails!

    All you did with new "fancy" ridiculous upgrade was compact all my emails and place a giant flashy ad on the side of the page. And as far as my "free" limited storage, You can **** straight off!!!! Who are you to tell me how many emails I can keep????????????? I have had this email account for over 20 years. I am going to have things in there from the past. I ABSOLUTELY WILL NEVERRRRRRRRRR PAY YOU FOR ADDITIONAL STORAGE. If you want to keep this **** up, I will move along and I will eviscerate you in writing.

  19. Difficult to read my inbox

    The basic/classic design layout for the inbox made it easier to read emails at a glance. It's now difficult to decipher what the subject is, the body preview, what's read and unread as they're all rather similar. Please make some accessibility options to better use the forced new inbox on customers. To be clear, no one asked for this.

    How could you make a new version live without a compact view option?! WTF yahoo.

  20. unable to copy and blind copy contacts

    I am very unhappy with your new version of Yahoo Mail for several reasons & by far prefer the old version.
    It seems impossible to copy in other contacts or blind copy others, which used to be easy.
    If possible please could you switch me back to your original email layout, otherwise I'll need to stop using Yahoo & change to Google Mail.
