New Yahoo Mail

← Yahoo Feedback

Welcome to the new Yahoo Mail Desktop experience! This is a place for you to help shape the redesign. We review the most popular, feasible ideas from this forum to make positive changes to your Yahoo Mail.

COME HERE FOR THE LATEST UPDATES.

Unfortunately, you cannot revert back. We are only making the new one better. We know change is frustrating and hard but we really hope you'll give the new layout a fair chance.

WHAT'S NEW:
Calendar - We moved it from under "More" on the right hand side to it's own icon. Still on the right hand side, but it's now the first icon next to Starred and Contacts.

TIPS:
Disable Inbox Categories (All, Primary, etc) - You can go back to having just ONE Inbox. Go to Settings > Inbox Categories.
Keep Folders Expanded - First expand left hand column by hovering on Inbox edge until you see Double Arrows. Then a drop down will show up next to Folders.
Bulk Delete - Click on a checkbox from your Inbox and a new checkbox will appear at the top. From there you can Select All and Delete All.
Sender's Email Address - You don't have to open the message to see the sender's email address. Just hover over the sender's name from your Inbox.
Sort By Sender - This is still a sorting option, but you must disable Conversation view under your Settings. Then you will see "Sender name"
Disable AI Summaries - Go to Settings > AI features > Toggle Off
Unread Count - You can hover over "Inbox" to see the Unread count or you can expand the left hand column and Unread will be in the column below Inbox with the unread count. No hovering.

COMING SOON!
Compact View - Small, Medium and Large views are coming soon! (Some of you are already seeing this new Setting, please let us know if you cannot)

**Please do NOT post about Account, Password, Login issues here. It will be deleted. Please go to help.yahoo.com.

Thank you! 💜

  1. Bring back the right click "mark as read" for each folder.

Please allow the right click and marked as read for the folders such as Inbox. It is a change that is annoying and frustrating.

  3. Give me the option to use the older version of email. This version is really makes it tough to tell which emails have already been read.

Give us the option to use the older, cleaner, version of Yahoo email.

  4. Make viewing easier

I am not sure without comparing to the old yahoo side by side exactly what the change is. But, I find the new mail extremely challenging to sort through fast on my desktop. I cannot clearly see what I have opened and what I haven't. It's super tedious. It's much easier to quickly go through and delete emails on my phone than in person. I don't care about any of the other changes, but I've got to be able to view and delete quickly.

  7. How about restoring the bulk Block Senders function. Seriously

The bulk BLOCK SENDERS function from old Yahoo Mail is gone. What the heck are you folks thinking? Have to open and email, copy the single email address, go to Settings and then Add one at a time. WTF? Somebody missed a memo email. I work in software development, maybe you should hire me.

  10. keep the folder template as it was

keep the folder template as it was without changing. Overall, yahoo update looks useless and requires a lot of time to get use to, I have no time for that. Extremely negative.

  13. Allow me to use the older mail - this does not work for me

Now we are unable to preview pdf attachments. Now we are required to open an email to preview the attachment adding more time. Plus it looks unprofessional, like it's for a child.

  14. Bring the 'mark unread' little dot back to the emails

When you were in an email, you used to be able to mark that message unread. There was a little dot that would disappear after two seconds. I used that all of the time when I needed to come back to an email that I didn't have time to digest. Bring back our little dot! Please?

  15. REDUCED FUNCTIONALITY ON IOS IS ABSOLUTE TRASH

WHY CAN'T I ACCESS MY EMAIL FOLDERS ON IOS LIKE PREVIOUSLY? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS THAT I CAN NO LONGER ACCESS MY OWN EMAILS IN ON MY CELLPHONE BECAUSE OF YOUR STUPID CHANGES TO THE INTERFACE. WHY WOULD YOU REDUCE THE FUNCTIONALITY OF YOUR OWN PRODUCT? ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.
