Welcome to the new Yahoo Mail Desktop experience! This is a place for you to help shape the redesign. We review the most popular, feasible ideas from this forum to make positive changes to your Yahoo Mail.

Unfortunately, you cannot revert back. We are only making the new one better. We know change is frustrating and hard but we really hope you'll give the new layout a fair chance.


WHAT'S NEW:
Calendar - We moved it from under "More" on the right hand side to it's own icon. Still on the right hand side, but it's now the first icon next to Starred and Contacts.

TIPS:
Disable Inbox Categories (All, Primary, etc) - You can go back to having just ONE Inbox. Go to Settings > Inbox Categories.
Keep Folders Expanded - First expand left hand column by hovering on Inbox edge until you see Double Arrows. Then a drop down will show up next to Folders.
Bulk Delete - Click on a checkbox from your Inbox and a new checkbox will appear at the top. From there you can Select All and Delete All.
Sender's Email Address - You don't have to open the message to see the sender's email address. Just hover over the sender's name from your Inbox.
Sort By Sender - This is still a sorting option, but you must disable Conversation view under your Settings. Then you will see "Sender name"
Disable AI Summaries - Go to Settings > AI features > Toggle Off
Unread Count - You can hover over "Inbox" to see the Unread count or you can expand the left hand column and Unread will be in the column below Inbox with the unread count. No hovering.

  6. Allow the Folders column width to be resized

    You could change the width of the folders column in the old mail system. It seems to be fixed now and I cannot read the full folder names imported to the new system so it is not easy to distinguish folders without waiting for the prompt to pop up after hovering over each folder name.

  8. Pathetic layout

    The message layout is pathetic, especially as I have no option to widen the email box and reduce the width of the ad panel. We use email to read the email, not to enjoy constantly loading advertisements in the panel to the right, which we can't even reduce the size of. In the new layout, we have to scroll within the email window from left to right, which is extremely annoying. For people who are on the spectrum, the large, constantly flickering ad panel is a sensory nightmare. Be a good email provider first, earn ad revenue later.

    allow the panels to be resized and customized. the panel on the right is taking up a large amount of space and i would prefer an expanded email box.

  11. new look not so good

    Overall not very nice and some tools not conveniently placed.
    Other things which please sort out:
    - in search there is no more an option to allow search by specific folder.
    - you no longer have the option to expand/collapse deleted, spam...folders in left panel
    - message (centre) panel width shorter than previous, so small screens or laptop makes reading/viewing unpleasant
    - attachment preview no longer in left panel/window...opens new tab or on top of the message and if you want to refer something pointed out w/i email you have to close, open, close etc. so very non user friendly.

  12. Poor visibility

    The "new in" sign next to the favicon is hardly recognizable compared to the old layout.
    Also, there is no need for the use of coloured circles matching the senders in the basic inbox view as they only create visual clutter. All in all, a sleeker layout would be preferred (viz. please, bring back the old one).

  13. Mailbox Appearance

    I really dislike how the entire mailbox is white. Cosmetically, it is not appealing, and the black is too dark. This is why I preferred the basic mail. We should be able to change the color to what we prefer

  18. Subject line of unread message

    when we see unread message, unsubscribe option is coming in the middle of subject line when mouse moves. when we are in hurry, suddenly we click on that unsubscribe option by mistake.
    Solve this problem.

  19. DON'T PUT IN DIFFERENT FOLDERS

    STUPID and ridiculous layout. The whole reason I don't use gmail. I have just found emails that were very important that got filed somewhere and were missed. They don't come up in a search. NOT HAPPY.

  20. The new Yahoo Mail interface is difficult to read because there is too little contrast between read and unread emails. There is no option to

    The ads are inappropriate and irrelevant. Why am I seeing ads for dating websites? What is that supposed to mean? These ads are unwelcome and have nothing to do with my interests. Please review the relevance of the ads being displayed.
