Custom scoring option for Fake FG and Fake Punt TD on Def/Special Teams
My league believes a Def should get the option to get 6 pts for a fake FG or Punt that goes for a TD. The option should be given as it makes those plays much more meaningful and it happens when. SPECIAL TEAMS units are on the field.
@Strongman: So by your logic that it is "special teams" because a field goal kicker is out there, then all FG's and PAT's should then be credited to the team D-ST as well.

I agree 100% that is special teams. If a kicker or punter is on the field it should be considered special teams. Those who say it is not possible to score that way are wrong. We used RT Sports up until this year and they allowed us to score it that way.
Because there's no kick on a fake punt/FG, such a play is nothing more than an offensive play (run or pass), and that's how it will appear in the box score; the fact that a punt/FG formation was presented pre-snap is irrelevant. There may be "special teamers" on the field, (some of who could also be part of the regular offensive package); but unless there's an actual kick (punt, placekick or dropkick), the play would not be considered that of special teams. All fantasy sites operate this way.

Absolutely should be Def/ST TD. Thats who is on the field. How can Yahoo consider it anything else??

Is a Punter available to draft or pickup from waiver wire? Yet one leads the QB rating currently in the NFL. Thats in the box score and yet I cant benefit from it currently. Your comment proves my point. There should be one if a league wants one. We could manually add it after a game. Just like stat adjustments. Just because it's not a Box score item doesn't mean it didn't happen nor should we be bound to the confinement you seem to agree with.
Yahoo is here to serve our leagues so allow more customizable scoring is all I'm asking.
@Benjamin: Only statistics and any other specific information that can be found in the box score can be used for fantasy scoring purposes. Consequently, it's impossible to credit fake FG TD's and fake punt TD's for Team D/ST because such plays are never specifically identified as such anywhere in the box score. This lack of evidence of a fake play having happened in a game could lead to arguments as to whether or not such a play really took place (e.g., "I couldn't see the game because it wasn't shown in my area.").
