Don't make me click twice to mark an email as spam
I used to be able to mark an email as spam by clicking a button in the top bar above the mail list. Now I have to click on the checkbox on the left side of the item to get the buttons to appear then click the Mark as Spam button. What designer could possibly have thought this was a good idea? Please change this back. I hate gmail, but this could be the change that compels me to move.

Please restore the xox at the top that allows for bulk deletion
Please restore the box at the top (it exists as part of deleting spam emails) that allows the user to delete in bulk, like - delete all unstarred emails, etc. Deleting one email at a time wastes the user's time and increases wrist injuries. Thank you!

reading mode
Since the developers can’t seem to let go of the ultra-ornate visual style, why not create a simplified option—something like Firefox’s "Reader View"? That way, everyone’s happy: the developers get their "new Yahoo," and those who prefer a no-nonsense approach get something simpler (ideally, something that still allows for basic functionality, like using the right-click menu to open links in a new tab—and nothing more).

Display the names or e-mail addresses to which messages were sent when performing an advanced search with a "From" address
When I do an advanced search, if I select my primary e-mail address as the "From" e-mail address before I perform the search, then the list of search results will show all messages as sent by "Me", but will not show to the names or e-mail addresses to which they were sent.
I would like the list of messages to show me not who sent them--I already know that I sent them--but the names or e-mail addresses of those to whom I sent them.

Stop using a default "To" e-mail address with an advanced search
When I do an advanced search, if I select my primary e-mail address as the "From" e-mail address, then by default it becomes not just the "From" address but the "To" address. Which is to say, by default Yahoo Mail will search on all messages I have sent from my primary e-mail address to my primary e-mail address.
This is annoying. There should be no default "To" address.

light and dark both are terrible...please give us more options like the older version...I would hate to switch everything to gmail...but you are giving no choice

Email content
Since Yahoo has forced the switch to New Yahoo Mail I continue to have problems viewing the content of some emails. Recently I emailed a picture from my phone to myself. When I open the email, the picture is not there. Nor is there an attachment. Never had this problem with the old email. Pictures were always there. Sometimes store content does not show up either. Email Plane Area
Would like the section that contains the email subjects and other info (both read and unread) to be the same darker color as the sides and back ground. The sides and background are black but the email section and the email content section are a more of a gray color. I think it would look better if the unread and read email section were the black color. You could make it the black color and have unread email the more gray color to distinguish between unread and read emails so that way unread is the dark grey color and read…

spambox and more room for my mails
Can I have the possibility to decide my self what is spam and what not ! You have put good mails in my spambox, and from there you deleted a lot of good mails. They were not 30 days in the spambox. Please put them back!
And another idea I want more space for my emails, and less for publicity, ads and news. In the right corner the information takes to much space, compared with the space for my emails. in the old version I had no problems with that. This is a negative change.

Keep a permanent trash bottom

My inbox is full of the same advert from the same company. 10+ messages and they can't be blocked or deleted.

I can no longer preview images in an email
Previously, when I would hover over the small square image icon in my email list, I could see a preview of the attachment without opening the email. Now, when I attempt to do that, I get a pop up with the Delete button right over the image icon, making it unclickable. Very bad design.

Fix Email
Please make customization of how the new (awful) email appears on-screen have a greater number of options. Both the "light" and "dark" options are poor for us BOOMERS. We need higher contrast and I used to be able to change areas to best suit ME - THE USER.

Allow me to block emails without first opening them
with the new email I can no longer block an email without opening (I do not have anywhere near 1000 blocked emails!) it and I need to be able to Block Spam messages that I keep getting. The new email is absolutely terrible I can't even fit emails and the messages on the same screen.
Also stop deciding what are Primary emails for me just show me all my emails74th ranked
